Imagine yourselves transported into a world unlike our own; on an island city named DM City. Here in DM City, there is one thing that separates this world from ours: Dueling.

Dueling is an everyday part of life in DM City. It’s active game, as some call it, that sharps intellectual skill and tactical approaches that involve digital monsters, spells, and traps. Dueling is celebrated so much so that special tournaments are held every year.

It’s not just a special occasion, everyone from children to adults engage in dueling whether for fun or for the sake of sport’s competition.

As time passes and DM City evolves, so has Dueling adapting to new ways of summoning monsters. Unfortunately, due to the different summon methods, it makes duel disks used in dueling susceptible to technical malfunctions. As a result, there have been casualties involving one or more duelists being sent to DM Hospitals.

To remedy this problem, the leader of DM City’s Bureau of Technology and Engineering, Professor Erik Clove, has developed a biochip that acts as a limiter so that Duelists can set their duel disks to limit their summoning to one of six methods: Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, Pendulum, or Link summons.

With Biochips installed in every duel disk, the Professor’s solution worked out well for the past 10 years, however, disaster soon struck our beloved city. A massive earthquake hit our city causing buildings to fall, roads to shatter, and much more. The earthquake caused the BioChip server to overload creating an EMP surge through the duel system.

The end result of the disaster, now known as the Brink Incident, claimed a lot of lives including Professor Clove but has also caused all BioChips installed in the duel disks to short circuit and turned from a limiter to a restriction.

Some of DM City’s brightest minds have tried to find a way to deactivate the BioChips but unfortunately since the chips were designed to only allow Professor Clove’s live dna to deactivate, it was impossible to deactivate the chips.

Because of the short circuit, whatever summoning method was last logged in on a Duelist’s duel disk became their permanent setting.

After the disaster, the DM City Security rose to power and acted as an emergency government to handle the situation and return order to DM City.

Unfortunately, not everyone was willing to recognize the new form of government. Over time groups of individuals started to band together into gang factions, based on the six different summoning method that are now permanently logged in their duel disks.

Now these factions seek to gain control over DM City each of them with their own dueling philosophies and using their respective summoning methods to prove their superiority. This of course led hostile tensions between each faction.

While some citizens of DM City have retired from dueling, there are others that have joined rival factions that prowl around the island looking or hunting for recruits to join their factions as well as take out enemies from different factions.

As months keep rolling by, rumors have spread about a lone Master Duelist named Orion Clovis said to somehow bypass the BioChips and has the ability to use all six summoning methods. As rumors of Orion spread, the six factions are in a race against the other factions to find and recruit Orion into their faction to gain the edge they need to completely gain control of the island.

So, who will join in their quest to recruit Orion?
