Description
...and that was when it happened. The second she laid a hand on the "gift", it sprang to life on its own accord, bouncing up into the air by some kind of springloaded mechanism upon its underside. Caught off guard, Jess staggered back, and could only stare at the sight of the box opening up to reveal a set of rubbery, hose-like appendages, each tipped with a large white glove. She barely had the time to react before two of the gloves had seized her upper arms with an iron grip.
"Uh-oh..." she whimpered with wide eyes, before she was yanked upward with terrible force, her flats slipping right off her feet in the process.
"What in the-?!" Keya's eyes were wide with shock as the "killer present" hoisted her friend above them.
"YAAAAGH! SOMEONE, HELP-" was all Jess could squeal before the box stuffed her into its interior and slammed shut, complete with what sounded like a belching sound.
"JESS!" Keya cried out, the others instantly rushing over to see what was wrong.
The group was silent for a few moments before Gary spoke up. "Where did that present come from!?"
"Well, I certainly don't remember sending anything that big," Rocky replied with growing unease. "Shouldn't we, uh, do something?"
"I'm okay!" came the muffled voice inside the box.
"Oh, thank goodness," Keya sighed in relief. "Hang on, Jess! We're getting you out of-"
POP. POP. POP. Suddenly, Jess' head and feet were protruding from the top and front of the box, respectively. Cords extended from the facade and bound her big toes tightly against them, her bare feet unable to move. The padded rings surrounding her ankles and neck tightened at the same moment, leaving her thoroughly trapped and unable to stop the longest pair of rubber-hose limbs coming out of either side of the box.
The face of the Pie Factory gulped as the gloves wiggled their fingers teasingly at her. All she and the others could do was watch as they descended upon her trapped size twelves, wiggling all of their digits against the soles, balls, and arches.
"YYYAAAAAHHHHHH! HHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHA NOOOOHAHHAHAHHAHAH WHO SEHEHEHENT THIHIHIHIHIHISSSS?!" she wailed, twisting her head this way and that as her luscious blue curls quivered from the movement.
"W-we don't know!" Jack replied nervously. "But none of us did, we swear!"
"What do we do?" added Barry. "Do we check the invoice or something?!"
"There was no invoice!" Keya replied. "It just showed up in front of the delivery entrance out of nowhere this morning... Doesn't matter, though. Hang on, we've gotta get you out of there!"
"NO, DOHOHOHOHOHON'T!" Jess shrieked as the gloves wiggled their fingertips against the bases of her toes now. "IT'LL GET YOU, TOHOHOHOHOHOO! JUST LET IT HAVE IT'S FUHUHUHUHUN! I-I'M OKAY, I SWEHEHEHEHEAR!"
The others milled about for a moment as she continued laughing hysterically, the gloves tracing over every inch of her big, soft soles with impunity.
"I guess we can't do anything about this until it gets bored after all," Keya admitted, rubbing her forehead. "We'll have to just ease things for her until it gets bored..."
"You gotta admit, though, this is kinda fun to watch," said Gary, a few of the others nodding in agreement despite themselves.
Even Jess herself had to admit, once the surprise had worn off, that this was rather enjoyable. Still, as more pairs of hands assaulted her thighs and sides and armpits within the box and out of sight of all the rest, her escape from this birthday surprise couldn't come soon enough. "NYOOHOHOHOHOHOHAHAHHAHAH NO! NONONO NOT THEHEHEHEHERE! MAKE IT STOHOHOHAHHAHAHAHPPP! FFFWAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA!!"
Of course, the GiftBox was itself an enchanted object first and foremost, and thus wouldn't understand her cries for mercy, so it wouldn't be until over an hour later that its captive would finally be spat back out and left a sweaty, twitching, still-giggling mess. And it wouldn't be until much later still that the crayon-scrawled letter that came with it would finally be discovered, having apparently been so crudely scotch-taped onto its side that it had detached when the GiftBox had been brought in before being left on the floor for most of the day... until Jess herself, having thankfully recovered from her ticklish ordeal, happened across it, picked it up - and couldn't help but burst into a fit of laughter that wasn't forced for once upon reading it:

Heya, Ms. Desserts! I don't know ya personally, but I know a friend who does and who figured ya could use a lil' somethin' special. It's a feisty lil' thing ta be sure but I figured ya'd be able to get some use outta it somehow. But if nothin' else, I'm sure it'd be good for a laugh whenever ya feel like one. Happy Birthday, an' lookin' forward ta payin' yer factory a visit once I make my debut!

This is my contest entry for PodFrog 's Grand Finale Contest - Comic Prompt ! The mini-story for this one was admittedly a last-minute, pulled-out-of-my-bum addition, but I like what I came up with for it - especially the little teaser at the end for an upcoming OC of mine! This is technically a WIP and I'll probably not get the time to get the finalized colored version finished until after the deadline, but I did whip up a grayscale flat color version of it that hopefully qualifies in its own right. Hope I'm not too late with this last-minute submission, and Happy (belated) Birthday, Jess! Hope it was a great one, and 'twas a pleasure to finally draw you!
