Description "When it takes to the sky, its massive wings cast great swaths of land below it in shadow. Excess energy from Gigantamaxing causes its wings to trail sparks of energy; people and Pokémon exposed to these are said to fly into destructive rages."
"Also known as the 'Terror of the Skies', it flies at speeds exceeding Mach 3, emitting a terrifying Screech that can carry for miles. Able to blow down entire city blocks just by passing by, its teeth and talons can tear gashes in even solid stone."

Height: 80'
Ability: Rock Head/Pressure

G-Max Fossil Ferocity: A Rock-type attack that Gigantamax Aerodactyl use. This move sharply lowers the target's Def. stat.

One more fossil Gigantamax to placate the masses. Yes, I know Mega Aerodactyl exists, but Gengar got both a Mega and a Gigantamax as well, sooooo...

I really like how this Gigantamax form turned out, since Aerodactyl is my favorite Pokémon in Generation I - this art piece was a labor of love. I was slightly disappointed in Mega Aerodactyl, since it's just extra-spiky rather than drawing inspiration from the variety of cool pterosaur species out there, it's the Gigantamax form to the rescue, but there's also a more plot-related reason for its presence...

One series of mainline quests in the "story" of the Zenith and Nadir games involves the discovery of an Aerodactyl in stasis deep within a certain volcano on Panas Island, until the antagonistic team wakes it up because OF COURSE THEY WOULD. For some reason, it happens to be Dynamaxed when you encounter it, but you only have a set number of turns to fight it AND you're completely alone and without any other Raid Battle helpers when you do so (though you can switch party members to compensate); it shrinks down and flees afterward whether you've beaten it or not. It's this little escapade that opens the way up to the ancient ruins where you find the game's Legendary Orb. Throughout the story, you will find several locations which have been attacked by the Dynamaxed Aerodactyl, until finally you have to go to the Vanished Isle, where it's apparently set up shop, at the behest of pretty much everyone due to the damage it's caused. Turns out there's two Aerodactyl on the island, a mated pair, so fighting them is the only way to get this species without having to revive a fossil. The climax of the Vanished Isle quest is a two-phase battle - one against a Mega Aerodactyl, and the other against the specimen you were chasing throughout the game, which is extremely enraged because you took down its partner and Gigantamaxed as a result. You have the choice to capture each of these two after you've defeated them; notably, this is the only way in the "games" to get both Mega and Gigantamax Aerodactyl, since the first-phase one holds the only Aerodactylite in the "game", and Aerodactyl revived from fossils can't Gigantamax at all.

Anyways, hope you like this one! Just a few more Gigantamaxes to go and then I can get to the ones from my fakedex!
