Description This was the artwork I submitted for a contest going on in Subjectively 's server, where the intent is to design a Mega Evolution for any Pokemon found in their Mazah Region and specifically the fangame for it, Pokemon Untamed! I decided to go with Roadraptor , which is actually my second favorite fakemon from the region as a whole (Can you guess the first one?). The inspirations for this design include not just roadrunners and non-avian feathered theropods like in the original, but also terror birds, the trope in cartoons of fast-moving things leaving a dust trail, and the phenomenon of sandstorm lightning . I wasn't originally going to include colored lines in this to save time, but for the sake of authenticity and distinguishing the dust clouds and the electrified glowy bits I decided to include it anyway. The only thing I wasn't fond of concerning Roadraptor's design was that despite the name it doesn't have those iconic oversized toe claw, so I made sure to include them in this Mega, along with a few design hints towards the Fossilized Bird of Galar which the mid-stage of this line was suggested to be related to (and which also looks dromaeosaur-like enough in its own right). I don't know if this design will ever be included in the game, but if Subjectively ever sees it, I hope he likes what I came up with!

Since this attempt at emulating the Mazah Region dex pages was kind of a rush job compared to the artwork itself, there's a typo in that the Attack stat should be 130 to reflect the +100-point change from Roadraptor's original BST/stat distribution of 70/85/55/75/55/145 (just to be clear, I put HP in front rather than in the back for my own dex entries, the way Bulbapedia does it). I also realized in hindsight that given the flavor, the ability should've been Sand Stream, but it was too late for me to change the submission; I was told that if this does get accepted there'll be a separate discussion for balance-related stuff afterward, but who knows if it actually makes it in? In any case, though, if you want to see the artworks by themselves without this pathetic attempt at imitating one of the greatest fakemon artists of the Pokemon YouTube community, click or tap the link below!
