There are many pictures in my "arsenal" that I have but end up never uploading because as the perfectionist in me (not to say that I am in any way perfect) but that small voice in my head that loves to fight with me and keeps me from sharing some of my images because the colors aren't exactly right, or the composition is slightly off....well, this one, I know the composition isn't anywhere near perfect. But quite frankly, I don't care. Seeing him sleeping, splayed out on his back, tummy exposed for all the world to see and/or touch, and just that hint of his nose doing a "peekaboo" is all I need to make myself smile. Hopefully, it will make you smile too.Get a closer look at that cute nose with the FULL VIEW

He is still so playful even though considered "grown" - but speaking of respectable, actually, I should say, "responsible" ... a funny thing happened the other day/morning. In addition to photography, I enjoy (attempting to) gardening and have been nursing a Meyer's Lemon Tree for about 2 years now. When I first purchased/got it, it was pretty much a twig, but has done well and has successfully given me a lemon just recently (granted, there were many buds that didn't make it), so to have at least one make it to full maturity, I was more than pleased.
At any rate, the other morning, my husband awoke early (which is UNCOMMON, lol) and didn't come back to bed. So when I finally awoke, I gave him a look like, "um...?!" and then he proceeds to tell me that in addition to our other cat who can't stand to see even a glint of the bottom of the food bowl, upon filling up the bowl, Nibbler, made such a fuss and a clear attempt to get his attention/have him follow him. So my husband did, and was immediately led to our front bedroom which looks out to the front porch (which is where the Lemon tree is). There must have been such a strong gust of wind (because the tree is in a HUGE planter with rocks and had been well watered the night before), that when he looked out the window, he saw that my prized "baby lemon tree" had been knocked over.
Luckily, the tree sustained no damage, but the mere fact that Nibbler somehow knew that the tree wasn't supposed to be like that AND made such a fuss to get my husband's attention; it just makes me wonder if/how they "know"

this sounds really like a great watch-dog... ehem watch-cat, with a nose for irregularities in one's life.
and did you already have the chance to pick some lemons fresh of the tree?

LOL - well, when I did my initial research on Meyer's Lemon Trees (at the risk of sounding like a complete nerd), "it" [the all knowing Internet

Yes - I am an avid believer that one should never stop learning because the moment you do, (at the risk of sounding dramatically morbid), you begin to die.
As for the lemons, I do as well. A full glass of lemonade would be amazing Β

I love sleeping cats but I have a hard time catching them with my camera. Usually I don't like the background or the angle. You have captured the essence of a cat in deep sleep and made it beautiful.

Thank you....I agree...the angle isn't my favorite (with the exception of how his nose is just peeking up) but often, cats really won't re-adjust themselves, even if you ask nicely, LOL
Of the handful I shot of him as he slept this way (while I could)....this one was the better of them all. So, again, I know it's not quite perfect, but it's still a sweet and heartwarming image (at least for me anyway). I appreciate you taking the time to comment. Not many people do nowadays

Thank you! As much as I love color images (because I feel like they just ignite the rods and cones in my eyes and help with the inspiration for my own images), black & white images are timeless and never fail to eternalize an emotion or feeling, you know what I mean?
