Great angle and great composition. I think it was crucial to set the exposure to 2 seconds. I love how the escalator looks too. amazing stuff.
And now... I am speechless.

Amazing Colour!!! You swear on your life you didnt edit the colour in this? besides the saturation!?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Skeet In reply to disturbedvg [2006-06-13 17:14:46 +0000 UTC]

yeah! hounestly! It was at the natural history/science museum in London, South Kensington. It's basicly an esculator that runs up into an earth sculpture and on the walls are plannet constilations and the whole room is lit in this purple colour as you see it.

Below are two more photos taken on the same shoot that have also only had the saturation adjusted (they're in my scraps)

check the escualtor steps are blury or the exif tag, mine was a long exposure so the colours are more saturated and brighter as the camera had longer to take them in its a great place to shoot thanks for the comment

Wow wonderful! did you use a monopod or something? the clarity is amazing a true skill

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Skeet In reply to burntlimbs [2005-01-07 18:57:08 +0000 UTC]

i didnt have a tripod on me that day my tripods huge and i didnt wanna lug it round london all day. I impravised using any wall or anything fixed to the walls or floor. For this shot i moved a sign post and used that i think to rest the camera on, worked a treat

burntlimbs In reply to Skeet [2005-01-08 16:32:12 +0000 UTC]

nooo not a tripod.. a monopod... just one leg, alot smaller to carry.. but they help alot

Skeet In reply to burntlimbs [2005-01-08 18:35:36 +0000 UTC]

I really like hte crop of this, takin ghte bottom of the escalator out. Lovely exposure, letting the movement in the stiars come forward, but not letting them be completely blurred. I actually like the pople at the top, as if they are being engulfed by a pink and purple earth! The rusty colours are a great complement. The lights in the background leap forwards, including the entire frame.

awesome shot mate, lovely colours and composition

not sure about the people though, think it would be better without them, overall nice though!

Skeet In reply to pete-aeiko [2005-01-05 18:32:37 +0000 UTC]

yeah we baracaded the bottom of the elevator to stop people getting on but there was a pile up and they pushed through so i took the shot, it was very busy, i was lucky to get a shot with so few people in it. If i went there again id give it another go and try and get it with noone in. cheers

First of .. The colors are the best part of this piece , the image has a cery cooling yet slightly warm effect .. and that circular sturcture on the top looks like a man made globe ,im not sure if it is or not, but it looks like it , its almost as if im very familiar with the structure ..
This must be some kinda shopping mall or somethin huh
The angle of this shot is perfect! Well done !

version-3-point-1 [2005-01-05 09:00:52 +0000 UTC]

this reminds me of the escalators to heron quays dlr station. they have like a weird orangey and blue glow, with spotlights and it's just the single escalator going up or down.
brilliant composition.
