i love fiddle he's just a good spooky boi and the rework is the most exciting thing i have going on this year and i also love zoe cause she's a fun mischief gorl and she has one of fiddle's keys so allow me to explain my head canon

so i think that since fiddle's rework has made him be around "since before civilization" which makes no sense cause shurima but still and also have him try to make himself look like the humans "it doesn't understand", i was thinking about how zoe could have one of his keys. since zoe was a lunari priestess in training, and the lunari were a civilization after the beginning of shurima, fiddle was already around and hunting for victims. i think in these early years of fiddle being on runeterra, he was probably figuring out how to hunt most efficiently. so since evelyn has proved that one of the best ways to get as much raw emotion (the thing that demons in runeterra feed on) from people is to make the victim comfortable then scare them super good, fiddle probably started realizing something similar. so that's why he's trying to make himself look human with the scarecrow stuff. however, i think the way he learned this had something to do with zoe. after she ascended to being an aspect, i think one of her first messages to herald was on runeterra (of course she wouldnt visit again for thousands of years. my personal headcanon on what she's heralding now is something to do with the darkin cause kayn x zoe is otp-). i think she was going to herald the rune wars. since the solari probably turned against the lunari shortly after the darkin war and the old aspect of twilight was there for that, Zoe was probably turned into an aspect in the short window of time between the end of the darkin wars and the solari killing the lunari. so when she was on runeterra trying to find out what she was heralding, she probably ran into fiddle. he would have tried to do his kill thing, but since he wasn't trying to look like a normal person at this time zoe would easily recognize that he was a demon and probably get away from him easily. i think she would probably follow fiddle around for a bit, and want to be friends with him. anyways she'd teach him how to be more human, probably helping him collect bits to make a disguise. eventually he'd kind of see zoe as something like a friend, and give her one of his keys when she had to leave him to herald the rune wars. now that she's back on runeterra she would try to visit him, but he's forgotten about any friendship they had and and only cares about surviving again. zoe kind of saw that what she'd taught him was what got him so powerful and stuff, felt kind of sad about that, and carried on trying to find what she's heralding now

idk if anyone else cares about this but i like them being friends cause i love "cheerful child is friends with horrible inhuman eldritch monster" cough cough georgie and pennywise cough cough so yeah

Okay so from Surprise Party Fiddle, bless his little Pennywise soul, we got the quote of something along the lines of "did you steal that from someone dangerous?" to Zoe about the key. Now this is most likely a joke, but it does mean in canon that that is in fact Fiddle's key and Zoe took it from him. Took. So modified head canon: when fiddle first tried to kill Zoe, she took the key from him. So instead of Zoe following him, he followed her around as she looked for what she was heralding, repeatedly trying to beat her up and take his key back. Eventually Zoe was like "oh he's obviously just trying to be my friend!" so then that and friendship and yeah. Also fiddle can WHISTLE which is ADORABLE and he's definitely mimicking Zoe even though he doesn't remember her now
