Eyecats are odd little things.

No matter how brightly colored they are, they always seem to come and go without anyone noticing. Each one has a certain affinity, and, if used right, you can 'tame' one to be your own. Secretive and reclusive (not unlike actual cats), they possess arcane abilities that they usually only use on small scales, such as warping, glowing, floating, phasing through walls, etc. Of course, there is a potentially dangerous aspect to their abilities, but so far no harm has been reported.

To maintain a steady relationship with your Eyecat and make sure they don't get bored and wander off back to who-knows-where, a steady supply of whatever attracted them in the first place is necessary; they don't require many other bothersome things such as food or water. They enjoy moonlight to sunlight any day, and make no noise at all; they have no mouths or nose. Or ears, for that matter, in the place of them seems to be fleshy, antennae-like growths. They are covered in a very fine, "peach fuzz" fur, but is so insignificant, the cats are generally referred to as hairless.

They tend to disregard names/titles given to them, but do seem to respond to their affinity, or simply "cat", Which from one can assume they understand the human languages. The rarity of the cat is determined by the level of abstraction away from the 'common' cat form, usually consisting of 3-4 colors (not including the eye), a slit pupil, broad 'ears', and a single long, prehensile tail.
