Fantastic design, but I just thought since Octavia is considered a virtuoso here are a few changes you might want to consider:
A. Increased upper fret access, or atleast the same design as the Violin Bass(notice that it has better upper fret access).
B. Remove frets, no inlays or fret markers.
C. Drop the Fender esque headstock cos that just looks wrong with this sort of body(again, just my opinion).
D. I'd go with an Ampeg Scroll bass like design personally because of the body and headstock design.
But this look is fantastic, hell, I'd be overjoyed to own a bass like this(again with better upper fret access).
Also, Hoofner, I love silly puns.

All pretty good ideas, ones that I'd honestly gone through in the bass' many iterations to try and accomplish. But in the end I ended up here partially for the sake of the form of the bass over the function, and partially due to limits in my abilities at the time of drawing.
-I agree as a virtuoso better upper fret access would be nice, just like on some of my guitars I hate not having that access. But since I didn't want it to look like a stretched Violin Bass I countered the idea with the logic that if Octavia could access that area of the neck on a massive cello, a shouldered bass shouldn't create that much of an obstruction.
-I started the design initially with no frets or inlays, but it looked (terribly) incomplete (at least in my eyes) so for the sake of form I sacrificed that extra function.
-The Fender-esque headstock happened for two reasons. One being that for the life of me I could not draw a proper looking scroll like headstock, and the other being that the Fender Jag Bass head (at least to me) looks like a scroll turned sideways and flattened.
Yes Hoofner...I's a silly.
