no.2: OKAGE: Shadow King / Boku to Mao
(suggested by LaroyJonkins)
Totally unrelated to anything involving OKAGE: Shadow King, but this is what was playing on near constant loop while I worked on this as I felt it fit the tone of the picture perfectly and I feel it enhances the experience if you hear it while listening to it... if you're into that sorta thing: www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_q57nā¦
When it came to this year's countdown, things I had drawn before were never off the table. It would have been impossible to expect anyone to know everything I've included throughout 16 years worth of these countdowns! Hell, even I forget who I've added now and then -- still, I did my best to refrain from anything I had previously done and for my part, I actually managed pretty well! Save for Mimikyu, all entries so far have been brand new so far which just speaks for the kinds of suggestions I got from you all! It's odd to think that after all these years of Halloween Countdowns, there's still so many things I haven't included. However, natural human bias is a thing that effects us all and that's where we're at now...
When it comes to the top slots, I wanted things I was very personally invested in. Things that I wanted to do, not just to fill a roster, but to really put love and attention into and when I got the suggestion of one of my favorite games of all time well, I knew I had found what I was looking for! The only question was how to go about it? The suggestion was merely 'OKAGE', so I could do anything and I've already added Evil King Stan, Evil Butler James, Rosalyn-(technically Ari)-and Kisling into various countdowns. No, if this was going to be amongst the finalists, this needed to be bigger! I wanted this to be the picture that, should I never draw something from OKAGE: Shadow King again, I could be happy it was this one and dammit, I did just that! Of course, I know I'll draw something else OKAGE related in the future, but for now I'm happy to lay this to rest for at least Halloween Countdowns~
Thanks again to LaroyJonkins for this suggestion!
