Description
In the live-action Transformers movie, the well-known character of Bumblebee turns into a Chevy Camaro.
The movie was amazing, don't get me wrong. The problem is, up until 2007, Bumblebee has always been portrayed as a Volkswagon beetle or some similarly small car. I think that changing a notoriously tiny character from a car the size of a twin bed into a large muscle car is a little... wrong.

Still, I LOVE the look of the robots in the new movie (a style once known to fans as "Bayformers"). Therefore, I decided to draw a picture of what it would look like if Bumblebee were still a bug.
He transforms similarly to his Generation 1 counterpart, except with a lot more small sliding parts. I modeled his head after G1 in both his cartoon version and toy version, and fused it with movie elements.
I modeled much of his robot mode on movie bumblebee's appearance in the IDW Prequel comic book.
I pulled this picture off by making a sketch on white paper, then coloring and editing it in photoshop, which is how I do a lot of my art.
