My labor of love for the past few months is finally finished! I started this one back in Feb 2016 but hadn't had time to finish it until now, as always my unquenchable quest for accuracy gets in the way of a speedy completion! This aircraft, tail # 73-0885, flew with the Aggressor fleet at Nellis AFB from the mid 70s until late 1989 when the USAF retired all of their F-5s. It was later transferred over to the Marine Corps and flown with VMFT-401 'Snipers'. The Aggressor program was established after the Vietnam War as a way to bolster dissimilar air combat proficiency by American and NATO countries, and F-5s were perfect for imitating the lower end MIG aircraft of the time, and hundreds are still being flown today. This is probably one of the last drawings I'll do in this style as I want to move on to bigger and better projects (i.e. more money), but I will never get tired of doing aircraft!
