Description
Alia Atreides of Frank Herberts "Children of Dune", my favorite character, played by Daniela Amavia. I started this a few months ago (I tried to draw it once before this one but realized I wouldn't have enough room and had to start all over!) and only had the section below the neck to finish, but after deciding to tackle all my nearly finished piece's I finally finished this one. I had used a pic from an old issue of 'Sci-fi' though I think I've lost it by now, so please exuse the bad lighting beneath the neck line, as I did it freehand (eek!). I'm actually really proud of this because I hardly ever do realistic art any more!
Enjoy! (P.S. If you haven't seen the new Dune and Children of Dune - Do it now!!! It's apsolutely the best sci-fi series there is!)

Ohh my.. I recognized this the instant I saw it. Wonderful! Children of Dune is, by far, my favorite of the movies. I had read most of the books before actually seeing the movies; both are great! Its actually really neat to see Dune artwork for once... so many of the people arround me haven't heard of the books or the movie. o.o Cookie for you. =^___^=

I have sucessfully fallen in love with Dune, but I think Children of Dune rocks my socks a bit more. Leto is so awesome.

I could not mistake that face anywhere. The children of Dune movie was the very thing that got me to finally read Dune. The rest of the following books were less of a pleasure, but a grand venture all the same.
The portrait is very well done! Everything was well done, especially the eyes, brows and lips. Now it would be only better if it were in color! It catches the character's niavaity of life and if you know the story, you can also understand the monsters that lay beneath the face. I hope you do more work like this, it is so well done.

Yay! That's the same for me I liked Dune a lot but it was only after Children of Dune I read the books - it's such a wonderful miniseries! Too bad it's so long I can't usually find the time to watch it hen I want to. Wow - thank you for such an awesome comment - it's made my day
