      It wasn't long after Alma had brought the pale wyngling to the nook when she'd noticed that she wasn't like the normal wynglings she found abandoned on the street, shy and nervous. Rather, the little wyngling, who hadn't told anyone her name, was almost vicious with how she fought. Alma still had scratch marks from when she'd tried to bathe the girl, who kicked and screamed like Alma was dropping her into a vat of acid.

    When the other children tried to approach her, she growled and threatened. "Get away from me!" She snarled, "Touch me and I'll rip your grubby claws off!"

  Needless to say, most of the children were scared of the wild child Alma had brought in from the streets.

    She couldn't blame them.
