In a world were only death, darkness, and broken cybertruck windows are a guarantee, a hero will rise!

This feels more like a retro-future like in those 80s sci-fi movies.
Speaking of furries and futurism, I have a concept of futurism where somewhat still uses early-2000s. Like people still use gas or combustion engines but of course with synthetic fuel. And of course guns that use bullets.

Like in the Super Mario Bros. movie where the Koopa Kingdom still used 70s and 80s cars (Pacers and Gremlins and Impalas) but they were modified with huge electric motors to run off electricity like a trolley?

Here is another thing, are those 2 other cars are actually Real-Life cars? Because those are probably antiques there; like seeing a Ford Model-T or any pre-1980s car today.

Sort of like that.
You ever play or see Warhammer 40K? They are futuristic but their mechs designs donβt look too advanced, like having WW1 tanks in the future.
There are some practical reason to have older tech. Like EMP blast cant affect non-electronic device and even vehicles.
