So I know its been a long time since I posted anything and I apologize for that. I drew these a while ago but was debating with myself whether to post them or not since frankly most of them are fail haha
I think the only ones I like are the first two of Kili and the one of Bilbo then the comic at the bottom with Fili and Killi =3= I need to work on my drawing skills seriously... especially when it comes to Fili and Thorin -feels like she butchered them ;3;-This was also more of a character study-ish practice thingy. I'm working on it o3oOne of the main reasons I havent posted much is because I haven't been overly motivated to draw and I've been working like crazy . I also am struggling with disliking my style ;3; I want to be a better artist who doesnt do so cartoony cutesy artwork!
I might just end up scrapping this >w<
But I would appreciate your input on it. Thoughts, ideas, suggestions. Love it, hate it? I'd like to know. I love this movie/book and the characters so I want to be able to do them justice like so many of the other amazing artists on here do ~ -pumps fist in air- That is my goal.
I can say if I get back in the mood to draw and or doodle anything then it'll probably be Hobbit related. I'll post it on here depending on if I like it or not

Oh god love this! The comic *dies* and Thorin <3! I am so sorry you are going through this slump. I think it is the hardest thing an artist has to go through. The feeling is terrible. I think you have a great style going but I know what you mean when you want it to be how you want it! I bet you will find it though!

Thank you for thinking so ;3; You're too kind. I don't necessarily want to change to a different style. I just want to improve mine? I suppose. Make it more realistic and less cartoony or something of that sort -shrugs-

I enjoy the style, but the grain of the paper texture distracts from the art a little

Ahh yes. I currently feel as though my art has hit a sort of rut. I have a fairly optimistic way of thinking for these ruts though. It simply means that your art has hit a point where any flaws in your style seem more apparent than the good qualities. It just makes it a little easier to figure out what you need to improve on. Usually, once you can get all of your art up to that par, you will find it is easier to improve at the speed of light again!
Of course, personal changes can affect how you see your own style, and that can also change how "good" your art appears to yourself. If this is what happens, a good idea would be to try making a completely new style! You can do anything you want with it, and it can look however you want. Even if it doesn't look good, it's still supposed to be fun to just sit there and try something new.
Even if you're not making a new style, trying someone else's can be a fun exercise too!
It's okay to feel frustrated with art, so long as you don't let that stop you from trying new stuff or improving UwU

Personally I love you <3 You're so sweet and supportive. I'm just experiencing a slump I suppose in my artistic talent. I just am having a hard time being really satisfied with the things I draw of late. I guess I was hoping for more improvement~ I want to take a figure drawing class to help my style be more realistic but Minot doesnt have much to offer here at their university D:

Oy, I did take one of those. During my time in taking it I didn't see much improvement but I practice everyday, even though I don't know what to do with my art later, or if I'm ever going to draw for the rest of my life. I try to keep as many anatomy references with me to try out and draw. Taking a photograph and sketching that has really helped me too. I hope you can do something to work a little more at practice
