First off, I really like the framing of this shot. It doesn't look unnatural, cramped, or uncomfortable, which is something really nice to see =] I do notice that it's pretty grainy - sometimes it works, but I'm personally not a huge fan, especially when you're using this much contrast. I do like being able to see the light hanging on stuff in the background, but I would lighten up on the contrast a bit and give more of a visual on her face and surroundings. Something that I really liked about your contrast though is that it seems like you caught a wisp of her eyelash, which is pretty deadly, but I don't think you would lose that by lightening it up a bit. Overall, I think it's a cool shot with lots of possibilities

Very nice shot! I like the angle and also the overall composition of the photo. This photo really works with the black and white too. On the downside, I don't particularly like the contrast. I feel like their should be a little more light on her face. Also, that little splotch of light on the right I think should be cropped out. That way their is a nice transition of light to dark.

What an intriguing photo!
I feel like there are two halves in this photo: the left one being light and the right one being dark. It's interesting why the model's face is in the dark rather than the light part. It makes me wonder what secrets "of her life" (as your title says) she's holding.
I'm personally not too fond of the contrast. I've been wondering if the light wouldn't look better if there was slightly more of it or if it appeared only on the girl's face and not in the background. I think it'd drive more attention to her, but maybe it's just me.
Oh, also the little part on the very right which isn't dark. It disturbs me a little bit since when I spotted it. I would crop it out or darken it so it gets black, but again, it may just disturb me.
What I really like though is how there is only a tiny bit of her eye visible and how there seems to be a mist in her hair. It gives the photo a bit of freshness, in my opinion.
Like I said at the beginning, it's an intriguing shot.
