I would love to know how much this arm was?

Skinz-N-Hydez In reply to AuroraFolf [2010-12-30 06:06:16 +0000 UTC]

If I where to make another full arm, the price would be around $1400-$2000. Takes a long time... and patience! lol

That is SO COOL!!!!!

So generally how much do you charge for unique steampunk pieces? I'm curious. Do you have an example page with prices you've charged for previous pieces?

Skinz-N-Hydez In reply to Ryugexu [2010-01-25 21:24:11 +0000 UTC]

Thanks

Prices range from piece to piece, usually around $250 - $350+
For bigger pieces. eg. Arms, legs. etc. $900 and up

Unfortunately i don't have a price page of previous sales.
Although you can check out my past sales in my ebay shop

Ouch. Sadly I don't have that sort of money. >_<;

What about pocket watches? I'm looking for cool ones. Know where I can get any?

Not many people do have that kind of cash to drop on costumes! I'm one of them

Not sure about pocket watches, i get cheaper ones on ebay and rip them apart and modify them into gauges.

If I had that sort of money I'd ask in a heartbeat.

I'm trying to get stuff together for my ALBINO [link] to spice her up. Inspiration on that costume is at a low as off late but I need to make her cooler. lol.

How long does it take you to make a piece like the handguard, usually?

Skinz-N-Hydez In reply to Ryugexu [2010-01-25 23:24:48 +0000 UTC]

The whole bracer, or just the handguard?
The bracers usually take 15-20 hours total.

Wow! That's a lot of time.

Its worth it though. This is what i LOVE doing, its my passion, my life, my lively hood. I never really knew what steampunk was up until a year ago. But always loved the style of steampunk without knowing what it was. Even as a kid i used to tinker around with found objects and stick them together making strange (steampunk) weapons and gear.

To me its not alot of time. Time (in my reality) doesn't really matter.... until the outside world (actual reality) effects it. Yes, i am crazy!

Steampunk is really cool. I agree that it's worth the effort/time if you can make something cool in the end.

Out of curiousity, do you draw-out your designs or do you "wing it" when creating cool things?

Skinz-N-Hydez In reply to Ryugexu [2010-01-26 02:19:53 +0000 UTC]

I actually don't sketch any designs out before hand. And i don't really wing it either, i guess thats why it takes as long as it does. Every piece is thought out, contemplated and then thought out again, before its attached. I want the finished piece to actually look as though it would work... in theory/fantasy/magic land, whatever you want to call it...

If you make it and its cool to you, thats all that matters.
