Description
When the vino has lost its taste... When, the rage as dissolved into apathy...When everyone wears the same mask...
When you can no longer see the dying flicker of pinpoint light at the end...
When the temple has beome just another stone-cold box...
When the godseyes have all lost their glory...
When there's no place left to hide.... no refuge...
Just drifting out into the void has vastly more appeal than being here, back there, over there, everywhere, and anywhere.
When you just want to be "Away"....
I don't remember the act of taking this photo, which means I was probably nearing the bottom of a Guatemalan Gallo liter. By the photos taken before and after this one, I know I shot it at lake Atitlan, Guatemala.

I like it. When I first saw it I was reminding of Guatemela. I was in Guatemala 2 months ago and stayed at hotel that was a 5 mintue walk away from Lake Atitlan. The memories....

Reminds me of the story about the man who sailed a small craft (such as this, I've always pictured) from Sydney, Australia, to Timor. A great feeling of isolation and freedom here - makes one wonder if you can't have one without the other.

Yes, it is kinda sad. I was feeling that when I wrote it. When you feel like nothing excites you much, and you just want to move out and "Away".... Where to doesn't matter... just away.

Yes somethimes we are just too restless in our lives. We ache for a change...a trip always helps...I went rafting this weekend was great way to break away from the monotone life...very exciting.

Thanks! I'm not sure if I was drinking or not. I remember thinking about taking the photo, but I don't remember the moment I actually took the image like I usually do. It could be that I was talking to someone and just snapped the image without thinking about it much.

Great composition. Cutting out the sky and shoreline creates a real sense of isolation, and turns what is probably a routine for the guy in the boat into a journey into the unknown.
