Description They seemed to take much joy in my melancholy as they snickered and giggled under my nose. They knew the hours I'd spent waiting for that wanton something to happen. And, they knew I did nothing but wait for what would never come. These cafe shadows knew my secrets and delighted in my follow...

...but I always knew I could squash them without mercy by merely bringing up their servitude to our sun.

You definitely have one of the better galleries I've seen on dA. I've been looking thru it alot, and the colour, composition, and exotic subjects are all really awesome. This one sticks out to me though, as it is a scene we've all had the chance to photograph, but I've never known anyone to actually do so -- to find such beauty in an everyday object beneath our feet, that is the eye of the photographer, and this is awesome. plus watch.

You are so very kind to notice! Sometimes you just have to make do with what's right in front of you.

right...I love it because it makes me want to look at it and keep looking at it and because it brings a sense of calm. I like the black tips of the chair/table stands that seem to balance the "odd" mixture of shapes. The angle is brilliant and I know I might not be an authority in the field but I enjoy this immensly...the fact that there are so many types of lines and shapes...just

It lookd almost unrealistic. Very nice shadows. You have chosen the blue tone but why not simply black and white ?

I like it in b/w too... but the blue tone more acurately conveyed my mood when I took the shot... or, perhaps a deep burgundy wine color.

definitely a fav! how'd you get the shot without your shadow showing up?

thanks love! It's really not a very interesting cafe or patio where I took this.. but, it's always nice to find the hidden gem within the mundane. Glad you like it.

i adore how the shadows are the subject, very tangible entities ! and pretty and blue . i dont find them so much snickering however,, but maybe after you'd be sitting there for a few hours..

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

skiphunt In reply to manunkind [2005-02-08 14:05:19 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. Yes, the "snickering" had more to do with my state of mind. When you feel like the world is taking joy in your foolish folly... from your perspective it can appear everyone and everything is ridiculing you. Plus, it was a bit of poetic license. When I took the snap I just thought it looked cool.
