Soo....Its that time again. Yay, Memes!

So, Sonic generations is coming out, and made a meme. Go, ! You Rock!

A little bit of detail (in case the flavor text doesn't show up)

1. Well, normally I'd use Red Fly, but since Skipper's an actual anthropomorphic dog, let's go with him.

2. Really, it doesn't matter which one I pick. I mean, they're the same guy! Also, the character designs (such as they are) wouldn't have that much of an impact on gameplay. If Classic Sonic was the hedgehog of today, he'd still be boosting and grinding. I mean, C'mon people! Don't confuse bad design with bad gameplay.

But if I had to pick, I have to go with Modern Sonic. Yeah, my first exposure was Classic, but I really got into Sonic with Sonic Adventure. Also with longer legs, a slimmer body and more streamlined quills, Modern Sonic lends himself better to the idea of a free-running athlete than Classic Sonic. Rewatch the opening of Sonic CD, or the Sonic anime. Those Sonics are pretty much just Modern Sonic with shorter quills. NOTE TO DC COMICS: THIS IS HOW YOU DO A FR***ING REDESIGN/UPDATE!

3. I like the idea of 1. Sonic being one of a kind in his abilities (or at least beyond everyone else) and 2. My OC having limitations. So, yeah, he'd be a little daunted by the idea of a shuttle loop (so dubbed by Smash Bros). Most likely he'd get halfway, jump to the otherside and keep going, or just step between the loops in the first place.

4. I never really thought about this. But yeah, with a Super transformation, his fur would turn gold, and he'd flip his cap back to 1. keep the brim out of his eyes and 2. Signify he was getting serious.

And then I decided to go one step further with a Hyper transformation. There, he's so overwhelmed with power that his clothes barely stay on (hence his hat floating), and everything about him turns white.

5. I don't really have a problem with the Level selection in Sonic Generations. Even if I wasn't a fan of some of the games being represented *cough Sonic '06 *cough, I think this game is a great opportunity to those visions justice. That being said...

Sonic Colors' representation is Planet Wisp, which had some of the best level design, wisp integration and 2D/3D mesh. But SEGA. C'MON! THE SWEET MOUNTAIN. ITS A PLANET. OF FOOD. WITH AN EFFING JAZZ BAND. LET ME REPEAT: A PLANET. OF HAMBURGERS, CAKE AND CANDY. AND A SEXY, SEXY JAZZ BAND TO KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF. It didn't hurt that it was up there with Planet Wisp as far as gameplay quality. But whatever. I think the game'll be great anyway.

6. Again, they're the same guy. I'd still want to kick that comically hilarious, rotund ass no matter what he looked like. The design doesn't really decide which one is better. But my favorite would have to be modern. Having a personality beyond "the bad guy" helps. Don't believe me? AoStH, SatAM, and Sonic the Movie Robotik/Eggman have wildy varying personalities because the game version was so vague beyond "evil scientist who wants to control nature" Once he got a voice, and a personality to go with it, that all got toned down. He also became more endearing because of it ('specially in Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Colors) I also find it hilarious that he's based on US president Theodore Roosevelt (the mustache and Glasses) and a song by the Beatles (I am the Eggman). RE: NOTE TO DC COMICS, THIS IS HOW YOU REDESIGN/UPDATE A CHARACTER!!!

7. Yeah, I find this one funny because I had to design a "classic" style, since the modern one is pre-existing. Does this make the modern one the "classic" one? I guess that makes Classic Skipper "Retro" a la Megaman 9.

8. I always figured Sonic thought himself "too cool" for Mario, who in turn, was too humble to pick a fight. But whatever!

9. I couldn't bring myself to either design a recolor or hunt down someone elses. So I went with the canon example. Yeah, we all know Shadow (by design alone!) is a recolor of Sonic. Although, its pretty cool how Sega pulled a chicken-and-the egg on them. Sonic was first in real life, but in story Shadow was first. Interesting. Funny tidbit: I designed a hedgehog recolor a while back. But I thought it odd that hedgehogs and/or echidnas were so common in Sonic's world, so I went with something a lot more common: a dog! Good thing, too!

10. Oh man, it'd be really cool to see Metal Sonic and his robot brethren (Mecha Sonic, Metal Knuckles ...and Tails Doll)make a comeback. Stardust Speedway Act 3 was an epic race, and it obviously works on more than one level (see Sonic the movie anime for details). Hopefully Sonic 4 Ep 2 will deliver on that front, at least for Metal Sonic
