Description
My first picture ever of Darkwing Duck and just the lineart before I color it with my markers. I don't draw furres or animals... so I apologize if my attempt is shoddy at best. It's my style twisted into it. Who's he aiming at? Your mom. D=I LOVE DARKWING DUCK!!!! Seriously... the TV series is very old (1991) and it's humor and gags don't hold up now with my adult years... but I loved it so much as a kid.
HOWEVER...
I stumbled onto a comic published just this last year 2010 of a continuation of Darkwing with updated humor to our standards, of course, as DW fans now adult. It's wonderfully fun and alot deeper... just like we wanted it to be.
It pays alot of homage to Batman and adds in things that we now can relate with completely. The characters all act like themselves and the art is very nice to boot. They even mix in Ducktales characters effortlessly for those who were a fan of the predecessor.
It's called Darkwing Duck Returns: The Duck Knight XDXD for anyone interested. Google it.

EDIT: Colored! And this was awful at first. My sketchbook make my markers bleed ALL over... so I first went in digitally and fixed it up. Afterward I decided that I might as well work with some brushes and as highlights and shadows...and I put in some filters and desaturated it. XD

With the filters and stuff you can't really tell it was colored with markers. Pretty impressive. I used to watch this show... Even had video tapes of the episode in the art museum where they're jumping from picture to picture... At least I think that's him.. lololol....

Yeah, I think that's an episode with some cute badguy who's a surrealist artist. She can travel through her paintings and stuff XD She's adorable.

And yes... you can BARELY tell I used markers because I had to recolor over it in OC and then did all my fancy filter work. Stupid new paper that bleeds. Argh!

I'm also digging the colours you used, it looks great.
As for your problem with markers bleeding, man, I hear ya. I don't even bother with them because of that (when I've coloured with natural media, it was always coloured pencils... otherwise, I just colour digitally).
And, yes, the new comics are full of awesome, aren't they? BTW, they're released by BOOM! Studios and many of the artists who've done covers for it can be found here on DeviantArt. The studio is also releasing a collection of the original Disney DW comics as a book.

From how it sounds quite a few things are getting more deeper comic reboots. Like Darkwing, Rescue Rangers, and I think I even saw the Muppets in there.
To be honest I think it's genius because the fans are adults now and it'll sell like hotcakes.

I wanna try and do neater poses, so I wind up googling like crazy to see ways to contort and bed, mix and match ideas. He's doing some kind of ballerina crouching tiger stance...ionno XD Sounds like DW to me.

all in all I think you did marvelously <3 I love the faded and washed out look it has now, exactly as an old cartoon could be remembered in the mind's eye and it really lends to feeling of Darkwing Duck being an oldie :3

I remember this show I loved it too, and I think I saw the comic somewhere on PlayStation network. It looked pretty damn good and the description was just impressive.
