On April 21st 1989, Super Mario Land would be released for the GameBoy, and with it came the debut of Princess Daisy, ruler of the Sarassaland Kingdom. In 2024, the game becomes 35 years old, so I decided to make some artwork to celebrate the occasion... 3 days later...

With everyone drawing Daisy as you'd expect, I made the assumption that one way in which my artwork could stand out would be if I took Daisy's in-game sprite (as well as the Skypop airplane) and converted it into a much more smooth pixel-less look, almost resembling a chibi-like Daisy in a way. Of course colored in that stunning monochromatic GameBoy palette that we all know and love, for the sake of a tribute and totally not because I was bored to make anything that would require me to color and shade it.
