I was practicing on the nebula... didn't come out very well.. so i was thinking maybe you guys can help
.... I used `priteeboy 's texture for the gas giant ..

The nebula does seem to leave the rest of the picture empty, not sure if you were aiming for that, but it does look really good. I suggest trying to add a little "depth" and feel to it, have you tried inverting sections of the nebula, blend to overlay/soft light, then just move it a tad bit? I'm not 100% sure it'll work but it often creates that 3d feel to it. But other then that Ill certainly keep my eye open for the final piece!

Have you tried your hand at airbrushing some shadows in? Very manual labor but sometimes it works wonders with a lot of practice. Its what I do sometimes when a nebula isn't giving me that certain look I want it.

This nebula reminds me of one I saw in a tutorial, which I think you'd find intereting if you havn't seen it already [link] I think it might be lacking composition and 'flow" to it, seems like the top-left area has been squashed in to fit the corner exactly while the rest is a little bland. Oh well, it's the best I could come up with this late lol
