OMG! When I was little and I'd go camping with my dad, he told me the story of the Side-hill Galoot! This is almost exactly how I pictured him!
What exactly is a Side-hill Galoot you ask? Well it a gnarly critter who only lives on the sides of hills because the legs on one side of his body are shorter than the others. If he leaves his hill he will fall over and die! I was always warned to stay away from any hills and the big bright eyes (car headlights) that gave away it's position. This galoot monster terrified me for the longest time, and silly as it is, this unnerved me for a second, bringing back those childhood fears.
