Ned Katzenminze was born with one of the rarest and oddest genetic mutations, technically named 'Craniopagus parasiticus', whereas he had another face literally implanted on back of his head, albeit with a different personality. Ned was naturally upbeat but naive, while his second face (named Val) was apathetic yet alert.

He and Val lived in a wheat farm, built somewhere in south of Munich, selling wheat and related products for a living. The genetic pair was an easy picking for ridicule back in his school years, but Ned remained unchanged, as Val channeled negative emotions into manipulating Ned's movements. This turned Ned into a borne fighter, coming from the back face's amount of seriousness, beating a crap out of their bullies getting in their way. Almost every time they got themselves into trouble with their enemies, they got off very easy, but it left Val depressed and fatigued. Feeling with assumption that channeling negative emotions could help them fight back at a slow cost of Val's emotional health, Ned decided to practice fighting through positive ones instead.

However, Ned had a side situation of his own. When he was a preteen, he saw a jaguar girl walking by his farm and waving her hand at him, prompting him to follow her into a local bakery. Despite her nervous and uncomfortable sight at Val's face, she did have an enjoyable hanging out with Ned. When her time was up, she decided to take a leave back to her hometown, but not before giving Ned a kiss on his cheek, much to Val's disgust. Hence, Ned had a developed crush on that jaguar girl, whom he would eventually meet her again in a next decade. That girl's name was Olivia Preuβ.

In 2020, his living in a farm remained the same, which at this point became boring for Val. But despite years of channeling positive emotions, Ned failed to be effective in fighting on his own, causing Val to increasingly worry about his bigger brother. Of course, since their graduation in high school, Ned and Val had nothing to worry about. However, Ned's longing to see the jaguar girl from the past again had resurfaced, inspiring him to leave his hometown for the first time. There, he headed to another town, which he thought was where Olivia lived, only to learn from the Arabian-themed cafe owner (whom she used to work for) that she had gone to Munich for departure to the US.

The shocked cat quickly went on a transport to Munich, and found where Olivia was last seen: yet another branch of the same Arabian cafe. Again, she was gone, but thankfully another owner (fox-snake hybrid lady) happened to be the jaguar girl's childhood friend named Michelle Krysler and, after through some lengthy talk, was kind enough to give him half of her daily income for his upcoming travel. After his arrival to Santo Tomas in the US, he walked by the house, whom Olivia's friendswere living. Initially, they saw him as a weird pervert, not helping the case with Val in their sight, but one girl had already been informed by Michelle that a literally two-faced orange cat was coming to visit her, which disturbed the girls as they found his motivations rather creepy, something that Val admitted. However, the same girl received another message from Michelle, this time a decade-old photo of Olivia and Ned. This left the girls in shock and disbelief, but they begrudgingly relented.

After Ned learned where Olivia went off to, he walked into a nearest military kiosk to sign up for the MALAKAS Project. His main reason for signing up was to see Olivia (who was at the time in the mountain base), but the soldier mistook it as getting ladies to like him, and Val went along with it, insisting to Ned that going after some girl he knew could be seen as an act of stalking and an uncourteous breach of personal privacy. Ned was dismayed at first, but happily agreed with Val's suggestion. Right then, the two-faced cat had to stay in a motel for one week until their time for transport to the mountain base.

And there unveiled Ved's worst-case scenario, that that mountain base was filled with many bullies or recruits with assertive treatment. When Ned was dragged into battle unprepared against several but stronger bullies, Val was forced to channel negative emotions to the fullest, putting Ned on a berserk fight, knocking down until the last bully, but then fatigue had become so strong that Ned could even feel and then collapsed in exhaustion. An hour later, Ned and Val woke up in front of Diego Dagdag and Timothy Soro, just inside Diego's bunker. Impressed by Ned's unique fighting, Timothy assigned Diego to look after the cat in training. However, Diego noticed Val in a worse state, and Ned revealed that Val had channeled negative emotions too much in order to fend off from several Super Soldiers. The two-faced cat, although an emotion-based fighter, hadn't faced someone who was stronger than all of the former's bullies combined. Ned also explained his struggles in channeling positive emotions for fighting, so as to avoid tiring out Val.

Surprised by Ned and Val's background and situation, Diego became determined and confident in shaping them up, because as a basketball player, he had to fill their head with empowering motivations. In that way, any positive emotion could make a boost in any player's performance. However, just like basketball, channeling positive emotions in fighting also required cooperation and coordination. While Ned and Val would still continue struggling with their channel, they would nevertheless make improvements throughout each rank: as a soldier, it had become easier to channel their positive emotions and Val became less susceptible to fatigue; as a super soldier, either of two could channel either positive or negative emotions, sparking them with confidence; and as a juggernaut, they could go on an emotion-based berserk without getting fatigued, but they could go back to their Super Soldier form once their channelling weakened or stopped. Ned and Val also developed a liking of using farm tools as weapons, for instance they swang around with a scythe like a Grim Reaper, and then turned it into a chained pair of kusarigama.

As a result, Ned and Val became a fighter of positive force, more optimistic than ever. But then, they received a rough landing from their surprise guest, Olivia, much to Ned's joy and Val's calm smile. Ned couldn't believe she could come see him, in which she explained she had seen them multiple times but couldn't bother to meet them as she took additional hours of training and maintenance tasks as punishment for slacking off. They were also amazed to see Olivia having turned from a nice jaguar girl into a big mean warrior. Olivia approached closer and kissed Ned on his lips, much to Val's disgust. For a week, they went on date from place to place, of course confined to the base's perimeters. As Ned and Val were honorably discharged, Olivia gave the front face a farewell kiss as she ventured off back to her friends, while the two-faced cat wished to go home to check on their farm.

For once they thought they would go back to their boring lives, well then, they were just in time to witness their former high school bullies destroying the wheat farm out of revenge, but not exactly petty. The two-faced cat had fought them off so much before, that once the former left the town, it was a right time for their bullies to physically vent their frustrations. However, their living happened to be so well-off or even better than Ned's that Val angrily pointed out that fact and suggested that they should have just left the two-faced cat alone if they were much better in living than the latter. One bully then yelled that they were only well-off because they actually underwent harsher displinary programs as punishment for bullying people like Ned and Val. However, Val first noticed many people bleeding and lying around the farm, inside and out, and immediately assumed the bullies had committed a massacre so as to prevent anyone from foiling their revenge. Ned was shocked to hear this and quickly checked on a nearby medic laid onto a tractor. Seeing a poor guy lifeless and hearing the bullies expressing their frustration for having to kill half the town all because the bullies were destroying some property that rightfully didn't belong to them, Ned and Val were equally filled with rage, immediately frightening his bullies and then charging at them with their kusarigama, one by one. And as the last bully succumbed to loss of his limbs, Ned and Val calmed down and took one last time to look around the mess.

On the next day, the two-faced cat, while cleaning up their broken house, was visited by the town mayor and the police, who ordered them to pack up and leave as their town was declared a ghost town due to a town-wide massacre done by a small group of disillusioned men. Ned felt embittered by this announcement, for all his hard work gone into waste by his hardened bullies, but Val quickly reminded him about Olivia, who had just decided to move in into Munich. The sudden flash of muscular Olivia started to fill Ned with elation, remarking how he missed her so much. So Ned happily obliged and took whatever he could bring, and few days later went to a Munich apartment which had a fertile grounds on its rooftop. As Ned was placing his remaining furniture in his new apartment room, he was then visited by Olivia, who lunged at him and kissed him again, which annoyed Val and caused him to complain that the situation where his face was forced onto a floor while Ned was getting smooches by Olivia made him uncomfortable.
