Description This was part of d.org's monthly art trade, in which I played a secret santa and did a painting of (who if you are not aware of, I sincerely recommend visiting his page for some of the best writing I've encountered here). Posing was tricky to get right, especially his back legs, but all in all this turned out pretty well.

time taken: 7 hours, easy
tools used: photoshop CS6, Wacom bamboo, deskside lamp, pencil and paper to get pose correct
music listened to during development: Most of it was Tron Legacy soundtrack, but in the last stint or so I was watching Hell's Kitchen on another screen. (Case in point, when youre wearing headphones Ramsay Gordon is really loud! D

The landscape you made is really eye catching along with Rex and his color scheme ^.=.^

Good choice in music with Tron legacy, have you try any Pixar's one? Brave could be fitting.

Tron Legacy is excellent art'ing music!

Thanks again for this view of Rex, who I so rarely draw in his element.

oh yus it is, Daft Punk doing a cyber-orchestral score thats different to their usual stuff, but it pays off reeeealy well.

as for this pic, perhaps you should do more pics of him "in his element' so to speak. One of the best ways of getting to know a dragon is studying the world he enhabits, no?

Yes.

While its fun to think of the species placed in modern or future times, much is also to be gained by taking our eyes and imagination to places more in their basic realm.
