My friend's vista won't even let her go on deviantart! It says all sorts of stupid stuff to her...little popup messages like that...or at least she says so.

Yeah...I get random messages there is always something that says "Please upgrade your HP" or something like that or "Download Azurebay images screensaver" or my Vista just shuts my computer down without warning...

What's worse is that Microsteal is coming out with a new Operating System by 2011.
Sad.
The only problem I had with Vista is some compatibility issues, that idiotic message that pops up saying "Are you sure!?!?!?!?!!?', ya know what I mean?

Like how you can't view GIF images in picture viewer like in XP. You have to open it in your web browser, which doesn't suck nearly as much now that I have Firefox. It was absolutely horrible with Internet Explorer cause it took so damn long to open.
and how you can't choose the slide show view (I think that's what it's called) for picture folders... you know, the one with the thumbnails at the bottom and the preview on the top... that was the only view I used in XP!!!
worse than anything is that I keep having to reinstall my printer and tablet because vista just wont keep hardware! everything I have has to be reinstalled almost daily.
the big selling feature for vista was the 'switch between windows' thingy, which I have to admit, I've used once... and it was just to see how it worked...
in fact the only thing I like about vista is the side bar...

Yep, Vista is crappy all right.
But this Vista debacle is just a repeat of what happened years ago.
MS released either 2000 or ME and it sucked. So MS had to hurry and release XP.
I liked XP, nothing wrong with and it doesn't eat up RAM like Vista does.
And I don't know why you're having that hardware problem. You shouldn't be having anything like that, nowadays most printers, etc. are detected by the Operating System.
Hmmm....Could be another problem, but I can't diagnosis it.

yeah, it will detect the hardware, and it automatically wants to reinstall it. I don't know why either... but both my laptop, and all the ones at school have the same problem with keeping hardware. numerous routers and lots of money later they still had that problem
