I am dedicating this piece to my good friend, and loyal supporter, Erik D. Shipley.
This is the 6th collaboration between and myself. As always, we hope everyone loves it like we do!

"Across the deserts and the hills lies the land of Merrindor a place of enchantment. Eliana is about to find out just how enchanted it really is. Whether she stumbles on to it by fate or by accident is still somewhat of a mystery but, that mystery will soon unfold.

Eliana wandered about the forest of her home pretending that she was a great adventurer. She had great fun there pretending to fight pirates, searching for dragon’s jewels and all sorts of treasure. When she was three she thought, she saw tree people when she looked hard at certaint trees, mostly the willow, and the pine trees.

Yes Eliana spent much time here but what happened next was rather peculiar. A small green blob of light flew right into Eliana’s face and spoke, “ Eliana, daughter of Aethaen Alderbranch, you are needed in Merrindor at once come quickly and follow me.”

Eliana blinked her almond shaped gray eyes as she stared at the creature in the blob of light. The creature appeared to be a faerie, but that was silly, Eliana thought that faeries were just pretend; it never occurred to her that she might actually meet one, but then again there were many things that the scientist could never prove or disprove so it might be possible that they actually existed in some distant land.

Eliana shook her head and decided to follow the creature deeper and deeper still into the woods until a loud horse’s whinny caught Eliana’s attention.
On the horse was a warrior maiden.

She had black hair and brown skin and a triangular stripe on each of her cheeks. The warrior had on a sheer long sleeved shirt that overlapped in the front. She wore a tan leather skirt and thigh high leather boots. Strapped to her side in a black scabbard was a sword.

She looked at Eliana and said, “Daughter of Aethaen, my name is Seema. The elders gave one job, to escort you; we must ride across the wilderness so we might reach Merrindor.”

Eliana nodded and picked up the edges of her yellow dress, which tied up in the back with a purple bow. Now Eliana was only a child of sixteen years of age, she scarcely knew how to ride a horse but she figured she had better learn quickly."
