So it's no surprise that I HATE Loki's original design. The skirt is just kind of awkwardly hanging on, and I have no idea how her boobs haven't fallen out yet. So I took it upon myself to redesign her outfit. I wanted to keep her seductive look but also show that she's cunning and calculating. Her original is not something I would think a strategist would wear. I don't feel like her design is emphasizing her intelligence very well. Just her boobs.

I read on the Wiki that her design is supposed to resemble a dazzling, bewitching flower, so I kept that in mind while working on this. I would have liked to make her skirt a petal skirt to further emphasize that flower theme, but I just couldn't get the fabric to look right. I redesigned the shape of her corset to look like flower petals about to unfurl around her hips. The stockings were mainly because I thought they would be sexier than her original one-legged tights. I'm not a fan of the one-legged tights (which show up in Azura's design too). They don't serve any purpose because they're not covering the leg on display. I suppose they add a bit of asymmetry to the design, but Loki's skirt is already asymmetric without the weird one-legged tights. So we'll go with stockings.

Interestingly enough, I found out that her color scheme is very similar to the clematis flowers, which represent ingenuity and artifice. Very fitting for her character. I added a bit of red to the inside of her skirt and sleeves to hint at that danger underneath her beauty. I should also note that her color scheme is very different from the other Book 2 antagonists, which I'm sure is intentional. I don't see her being loyal to Surtr in the long run. We'll have to see how Book 2 plays out.
