It doesn't count as art to put a black frame and lame text around a screenshot of something not at all associated with you or anything you've done. >.>

It's photo manipulation, ok? You get a photo, and you digitally enhance it and alter it to make it become something different. It's not traditional art. That's why deviantART has headings, to separate all the different types of art. Simple really.

It's not a photomanipulation. That suggests that the user enhanced the image itself by adding additional lighting effects, altering the contrast, sharpening or softening areas, etc. It was simply the original picture placed in a black frame and given a crappy tidbit of text. Don't try to make something more complex than it is.

I'm not actually. I'm just stating the obvious. I don't think it's right that you come on here, and critisize people's work when you know fully well that there are people who will want to say otherwise. I'm not here to cause arguments, but me, who's an art and photography student, is pretty knowledgable in the subject. You are probably the only one who thinks it's not art, so you're on your own there. Sorry mate.

I wasn't referring to the black border. The fact that they have changed the image in order to make it different from the original, is photo manipulation. After all, if it wasn't, they wouldn't have taken the time to put it into the heading..

Tell me what was done to make this image different from the original, and provide the original for comparison. -.-;;;
Also, don't always trust a person's categorization of something. Many people blindly put things into categories of which they don't even know the meaning.
