Description
In many alcrine breeds, the males are usually brightly colored with a red or pink patch on their chest and lighter-colored females. For some odd reason, there is a common mutation that can cause a pen(female alcrine) to develop bright colors of a male or a quill(male alcrine) to develop paler colors. this often leads to a lot of confusion during courting season in January, but it usually gets cleared up pretty fast.
