Description
The leather, after I burnished the leather around the seams and D-ring straps.
Almost ten years ago, a friend showed me a sword that was made for them. I borrowed it to clean the rust off the blade, and do a general cleaning. Because a bare blade is a danger, I made a quick and dirty scabbard out of glued up pieces of press board. I painted the scabbard black.
Present day, and a visit to my friend found that the scabbard was splitting at some of the seams. I borrowed it back to fix the scabbard. To help keep the scabbard together, I glued some leather around it. It also gave me a chance to add some D-rings. I did screw up, and cut the slots for the D-ring straps. So I ended up putting D-rings on both sides.
