Main Street Station in Disneyland, right after sunset. Right after 8 pm, to be exact. I hit that golden "magic hour".Tried a few things with this image. First of all, it's a PNG, though it wasn't originally, as my little point-and-shoot camera only does JPGs. Other photographers - I'd like your opinion on this. If your camera only saves JPGs, what do you like to convert your files to after you touch them up, if you change it at all?
I used Photoshop Elements to slightly rotate, center, and distort the image to remove the bowing of the roof and flagpole due to my vantage point on the ground.
I only wish the people in the photograph were facing forward, but I wasn't that intent on getting the perfect shot...

Thanks! Had a great time, as always. Went to the cast preview of Cars Land, but wasn't allowed to take any photos in there since it wasn't technically open, yet. That just KILLED ME. It's so well done.

My sister works at Disneyland, actually, and I was her plus-one for the event. She works Jungle Cruise, steam trains, very rarely Tiki Room, and is now mostly working in the attraction's office for Westside Central, after they learned she could make coffee like a pro.
I can understand why we weren't allowed to take photos in Cars Land..they weren't quite done yet. Some plants were still in their pots and not in the ground yet, some construction fences and equipment were still out. Having photos of that shown to the general public might hurt business...a little, or maybe it wasn't quite up to code. I don't know, I thought they were being a little /too/ cautious. There were official photographers who would take our pictures, though, so we have a few shots of us with the fantastic backgrounds. Won't be sharing those on dA, though, as I didn't take 'em.

Really? Wow...Sounds to me like we're lucky to have her on the team! I do think they didn't want some things shown until they were completely ready, which is why you couldn't shoot, but I think you could still share the shots the official photographers took.

And yeah, I'm sure they wanted to keep /some/ stuff a secret...but it was only a week before the official opening, and I doubt many people would think "oh, I've seen some photos and some badly-filmed video footage of the rides, I don't need to pay the admission fee and go to Cars Land now!" I think it was more related to the construction walls, sandbags, and such that decreased the illusion that everything is perfect.
Oh yeah, my sister is a big asset to the Mouse. And a big asset to the family. Guess where we spend our time whenever we go to visit her.

My gallery is for my /own/ art, it would be wrong to use it to post photos taken by other people, even if I'm in them. I know some people use dA like Photobucket, but I'm a bit of a purist and only use it as a gallery of my work.
