You know the pattern! But I'm trying to break it and get a job I want before I finish my doctorate! Don't you study while you're getting your degree. Give yourself enough free time so you can get jobs towards what you want, so by the time you do get your degree, you're not waiting to get experience. You already got it. Advice for me, who's still in college, and everybody is making the same mistake around me. They're under the false assumption that just getting the degree is enough to get the job. If somebody has told you that, they're wrong. You have to build up your resume and experience BEFORE you graduate. That's the unofficial deadline!
