I love the way her hair is drawn here! The patterns all over her body too, those are really cool.

This is such a beautiful piece >u<
I love the softness of the painting with the crisp details that really make the frost stand out.

It's always fun to see a "draw this in your style" thing with artists with different drawing techniques.
Comparing the two pieces, the tone of each feels very different. Frost feels very much like an encounter with something supernatural as the character's eyes and body designs both glow. North on the other hand comes across much more somber, melancholy even. Frost feels like I've wandered too far and disturbed a fae creature, North feels like stumbling across a tragedy, possibly even an icy death. It's very fun to see just how much your different art styles affect the overall mood of the pieces.
Some of it I think is the expressions; North honestly looks frozen to death, and I don't mean that as a negative thing, it's simply how the character reads with the half closed eyes and parted mouth while Frost looks significantly more alive if that makes sense.
I like the limited colour pallet, I'm hesitant to criticize how much the character blends in with the background if only because I feel like that sense of being lost or forgotten with the colours blending together is very fitting for the mood of the drawing. If you want the character to pop more I'd suggest maybe saturating her colours more? Just to push some of the blues and that little bit of pink/red in the nose and lips.
I wonder if there are any frost brushes out there you could have used to add some more texture to the piece? I can see quite a bit in her skin and hair, I just wonder if there were textured brushes you could have used to replicate snow and frost better? More snow-like texture would also be interesting, but at the same time the original piece is lovely in it's simplicity and softness so I'm hesitant to demand a lot of texture for the piece.
This is such a fun study to see from you, I really enjoy seeing you explore different techniques and different content for you work! Keep it up, and as always I'm eager to see where you'll go next!

I'd love to do more "in my style" paintings, since I'm really trying to narrow down what makes my work my own, my style unique, what flavor I'm going for. Etc. This piece was an honor to be allowed to recreate, although as you pointed out, I tend to "overdramatize" things, gotta have all those good MOTIONS. BUt yea I'll be doing more of these in the future.

I've love to see your take on other artist's work; it's not too unlike doing a master study for class I think and it's a good excuse to play around with your style as well. c:

It is, I need to boil my work in hot water and find what it truly is, and what makes it mine.
