A personal doodling of Yona, an aevaeryx known as the 'white dancer'. :>
Program: Photoshop CC 2015
Tablet: Wacom Intuos Pro
Time: ~ 6hrs
Behind the Scenes: Initially ready for shading yesterday, I couldn't decide on a style I wanted to play with until today. This is kind of a weird blend of cel-shading and soft highlights and lowlights. I'm really not sure how I feel about it, but hopefully it gives someone out there the warm fuzzies. The background is more or less a nod to my ancient 2011-2012 sketch commissions where I churned out 'pop-out' commissions left and right. Let no borders define you!

Oh. This looks amazing. You worked really hard on those feathers. It always worth it. Feathery wings alwasy looks so amazing fully detailed. Also really good work on the light. Seems like a sunset to me and that birdy flies really high in the skies.

I like this style of shading. I've been a watcher of yours for a while ('though I'm hardly active, ha ha), and with each new piece, I am amazed by the level of detail. I don't know how you have the patience for those feathers or how long they took you, but they are absolutely gorgeous. The soft highlights compliment them really well, I think.

The line art is actually very sparse, I saved myself from going head over heels in details given I was just going to wind up either painting over them or erasing them once the painted layers were applied anyway.
I think it looks much better with the 'clean' line art feel instead of the busy cluster of details. :>

I also really like this style of shading - very cool, and to me it just makes all the feathers seem extra feathery and all the floof extra floofy.
