The Westlands, Mid 1800's..Strange things are happening in the Wild American West. Monsters, Angels, Demons, Robots, Mutants, Outlaws, Lawmen, Cursed souls, and Aliens roam the wild untamed lands. What is the treasure fabled to be won at the town of Belgrave? The Gang known as the Fateful, are from a prophecy that tells the tale of 7 strangers who band together, and ultimately save the world.

The Aberrant: not Normal, Varying form, the Unusual..Unnaturals, Mutants, and legendary creatures..

The Westlands are home to gangs of high powered Mutants, humans born with super abilities. most stay hidden, but here in the Westlands they roam free and vie for power, and the ultimate power that is rumored to be held in the town of Belgrave. Most of these High powered mutants.. or Aberrants as they are referred to, have amnesia.. they do not know where or how they came to be and possess such power.. One such Mutant who awoke with this power went insane.. his name is X!!!

The Aberrant called X, is currently Insane, he leads the evil Gang of Mutants called the Slingers!

this is a name they gave themselves because of their abilities to sling power from their hands.. Each Slinger can produce a different effect. Some are able to produce fire, some are able to produce ice, and some can shoot spikes of Bone from their fingers.. but the most powerful of them all is their leader, he is called X. he has no real memory of his past, and has a large branded "X" symbol on his chest.. sometimes X will have memory flashes of himself being tortured and that giant "X" being Burnt into his chest with a Large Branding Iron..

in those cases he usually ends up incinerating something..

Powers:

X is a mutant with the superhuman ability to absorb ambient cosmic energy into the cells of his body, transform it in an unknown manner, and release it as waves of energy that heat the air in their path enough to turn it into plasma, which is a super-heated state of matter consisting of charged subatomic particles. These waves will emanate from his body in all directions unless he purposefully tries to channel them in a single direction, usually along the length of his arms. X is himself immune to the intense heat he creates, as well as the flaming heat blasts generated by his teammate Infernous!

Despite past accounts, the energy that X releases is not truly a concussive force. When X strikes an object with the waves of intensity of hot plasma, the sudden vast jump in temperature will often cause objects to shatter, explode, or seemingly disintegrate, and an observer might therefore wrongly think that the object had been struck by a concussive force. Should X direct his energy at the lowest level, he can project it towards a human being and his target will suffer a severe headache but will not burn up.

X's body is constantly in the process of absorbing cosmic radiation. When each of his body's power-storage cell enclaves reaches its capacity, excess cosmic energy is thereafter absorbed and immediately re-emitted in negligible quantities. Upon the total expenditure of all his available energy, it takes X's body about 16 hours to recharge to its peak level. The act of concentration involved in releasing his energy in anything other than an omnidirectional wave is physically exhausting for X if he continues it over an extended period of time.

this has been proven as a way of wearing him down and eventually causing him to retreat in defeat..

X is the older Brother of the Aberrant Known commonly as The Ghost., and eventually X joins the gang known as the Fateful. His relationship to the Ghost is made apparent when X sees Ghost for the first time without his mask, and recognizes him as his little Brother..this fact does little to stop his insanity, which eventually get equalized later in the series..

Design Notes:

this guy was my very first Westlands character..I had always wanted a mutant who had the powers of Havok to be a super hero in the westlands.. but that Idea had taken a back burner to the creation of other characters for the super heroes universe, namely star superion.. so in many ways X is my very first super hero..and he is even older then good ole' Star Superion..

the "X" that is on his chest is a Brand, much like you do a cow.. only in his case it didn't scar his body, rather it left a dark "X" which is forever ingrained in his skin..since he can absorb heat and not take damage from it, it is assumed he got that mark before his powers became manifest.. which begs the question.... who was it that tortured X?
His eyes are Black with a white Iris, which is pretty cool and symbolizes his powerful nature, not to mention will scare the crapola out of any enemy.. he is known for disintegrating his enemies..

I liked the open shirtless look of his design, it says evil and badass, like he doesn't care about covering up his body, he's pure badass in and of itself..he usually wears his bandanna and sports it when he raids towns, and fights other villains or Heroes..the chains on his hands are made of a substance that is unknown and are not removable with his powers..this too is a mystery in which X will eventually solve on his way to redemption as a hero..

but for now, if there was ever a Magneto to the X-men, then that is what X and the Slingers Gang are to the Fateful..

The Idea of the Westlands centers more around the Aberrant (mutants) Gangs then the supernatural forces that are swirling around.. most of the early stories will center on the Aberrant Gang wars, turf wars, and what it means to be a Mutant in the Westlands..

I wanted this to be very much mutants of the wild west, but with some supernatural and alien stuff rolled in for posterity..which, even you guys who aren't big on the Wild Wild west have gotta admit.. is frickin cool!! Cheers and Rock On!!
