Description Day Walker

Slowly as the sun started to rise over the city to bring on a new day a young looking man watched through his window as the morning's rays started to stream in. Crinkling his brow some in thought he swept his fingers through his short blonde hair. Today he needed to feed; he couldn't push it any longer. Raising his golden eyes to the now bright morning he groaned and removed himself from his seat.

Walking through his apartment he raised his arms high above his head stretching out. He wasn't keen to day time hunting but the humans were less at guard at that time then they were at night and he preferred less of a fight. Stepping into the bathroom he set his hands on the counter to brace his body as he looked into the mirror in front of him. Tilting his head slightly he let out a chuckle.

"Stupid humans and their beliefs of us. They wish not to believe in us even though we walk among them." shaking his head some he licked along his fangs.

Going through his normal morning routine he thought about where he wanted to hunt. The park was normally a good place to lure someone away but today was Saturday so it would be a little too busy with kids and their ever watchful parents.  Leaning against the counter he smiled slightly. The nature trails a few miles away would be perfect and he would be able to hang out in his favorite tree and if need be he would be able to eat up high and stay out of view.

Giving one last flick to his hair the blonde grinned at his reflection. "You know Sky, for being over 200 you still don't look too bad."

Turing off the light he left the bathroom and headed into the bedroom. Humming softly to himself Sky opened his closet and pulled out the clothes he wanted for the day and quickly dressed. Pocketing needed items and grabbing his keys the vampire left his home and took off in his car.

Heading to the outskirts of town was very uneventful since it was still somewhat early. Pulling into the parking lot that led to the mass of trails he noticed a few cars already in place. Licking his lips Sky shut off the car and got out slowly taking his time as the smells from the forest swamped him. Taking in a good breath he picked up the scents of the humans already in the area.

With the urge to feed he walked into the trees heading down a path that was not often used but led the way to his favorite spot.

After a few minutes of walking he came across a large tree with some gnarly looking roots. Smiling he climbed up onto one of the higher branches that overlooked a few paths that crossed each other. Closing his eyes Sky kept his other senses alert following a few heart beats that were around the area with one of them slowly moving toward him.

Deciding the one coming in his direction would be his meal the hunger grew more in him. The wind kicked up some and was coming from the direction of his would be prey. As the scent hit his nose he gasped at the intoxicating smell. Sitting up he let his golden eyes scan down the path the person would be coming from hoping to catch an early glimpse.

Not yet able to see anything he sat back but kept his eyes locked on the path as his anticipation increased with the passing time.

Licking his lips Sky spotted some movement. Keeping his gaze locked to the path he watched as a long haired blond walked down the path with a camera in hand. The girl coming his way made him pause in wonder. He was not sure what he was feeling but the intoxicating smell kept getting stronger with every step she took.

Staying in his spot he watched her move around the tree he was on as she took photos of the roots and a few birds that braved being around. Knowing he should strike soon he silently moved to his feet on the branch staying crouched. Breathing in deeply he took in her scent some more before he jumped down behind her.

He covered her mouth before she was able to scream out. Securing an arm around her he tilted her head to the side and sniffed at her neck. "You smell so good. Never before have I come across someone like you"

As the girl in his arms struggled Sky licked over her neck then slowly sunk his fangs in. Once her blood touched his tongue it was like euphoria. He didn't notice when she stopped her struggling and just stood there. Carefully he brought both of them to the ground against the trees hiding them from view in the roots.

Once he felt safe with his meal Sky bit deeper and was shocked when a hand came up to rest on the back of his head in what he guessed as encouragement.

Drinking deeply from the girl he started to feel a little different than during a normal feed.

Pulling back he licked over the wound on the girl's neck to get any stray drops of her ambrosia.

"That was amazing" Sky groaned out as he continued to hold her tightly. He felt her nod her head in agreement.

Frowning he turned the girl slightly so as to get a good look at her.

She was panting softly and was slightly pale from the blood loss. Not knowing why but he slowly ran his fingers through her hair and was amazed at the softness of it. He smiled ever slightly when she pushed her head into his hand in a nuzzle.

"You don't fear me. Why?" He looked her over more.

She looked to him and found his golden eyes. Smiling she reached up and stroked his cheek. "I have always wanted to find one of your kind though I didn't think it would happen this way."

Sitting up Sky broke the gaze they held. "You don't know what you're getting into. My kind kills and you should fear us."

She shocked him even more by smiling. "I know about your kind. Vampires have always interested me. I love your kind though, the day walker. Beautiful golden eyes, able to walk in the daylight, kinder feeding habits and posses more human habits."

Sky shook his head and scooted away from the girl who sat up carefully so as not to fall over. "You don't understand my kind. You may know the basics but that's still not enough"

She looked at him in sadness. "That's why I wanted to meet a vampire. I want to learn more and help both of our kind get along better. If things worked out well I was in hopes to maybe even become one"

Sky shot her a hard glare. "No. You never want to become a vampire"

The girl scooted back from him some at the barked words. "I would have no problem drinking blood from a human or an animal. Please"

Another glare came her way from the piercing golden eyes. "No" came the growled out word.

Sky turned his back to her and he started climbing over the roots to get back to the path and leave the area not wanting the smells coming from this girl to interfere with his senses any more then they already had. He heard her shuffle on the ground as she got to her feet.

He didn't stop as she called to him. Once he got on top of some of the roots a hand grabbed his shirt. He let out a growl as he turned deadly eyes to her.  "You should be thankful you still have your life right now but you are pushing it."

"I am but I don't want you to go" she pleaded

Sky narrowed his eyes. "Why shouldn't I"

He watched her blush and the flare of the blood to her face caused the blood to run past the wound still on her neck. The smell reached him and he took a deep breath.

"Well you did not feed enough to be full"

Sky pulled his shirt free from her and took a step. "I have had enough"

Not taking that answer the girl rushed up and grabbed his arm. "You need to feed more and I want to help you"

Snarling the vampire turned on her quickly grabbing her tightly in his arms and jumped to another location in the roots. He pushed her down and crawled over her letting out deep growls from his chest. Watching as her eyes grew wide he hissed baring his fangs.

"No, please don't be angry with me." She pleaded as she pushed against his chest as he advanced down moving her head to the side.

"I warned you girl and you didn't heed my warnings." Leaning in the rest of the way Sky bit back into her neck and her sweet nectar filled his mouth again.

She whimpered a few times and clung to his back as he fed. Unable to fight his stronger form she just held on as she felt her life start to drain away some more.

With a snarl Sky pulled back from her neck, some blood running down his chin. "I can't do it. You taste so good I don't want to lose that"

Looking down at her he groaned softly. "Why are you so different?"

She panted heavily as she continued to cling to his shirt. "I could be the one meant for you"

He pulled back some. "What do you mean?"

She smiled sweetly at him from her still position. "The scent and taste of a vampire's mate is said to be one of the most desirable things in the world to them. You seem very interested in me over those senses."

Sky chuckled softly. "You can't be my mate. You're only a human"

"Things happen for a reason" she whispered.

Sighing Sky looked around the area to reestablish the locations of other people in the area. "I don't believe in fate. I have lived for too long to really see truth behind it"

With a sadden look the girl reached up and stroked his cheek. "Please give me a chance"

Moving his eyes down to hers he stared into them for a while. "What is your name?"

"It's Kammi" the smile returned to her face

"Well then Kammi I think it's time we were to leave this area. I don't think you would be able to walk safely with how much I took from you. I'll carry you to the parking lot"

"That would draw attention though if you did that"

"Not if you get on my back." Hoisting her up he turned around and she hooked her arms around his neck as he pulled her legs up so she sat higher against his back.

"So you know my name but I don't know yours" she mentioned softly into his ear.

"It's Sky" he replied back for her

"That's an interesting name. Um before we go can I get my camera" She pointed ahead of them to where the device sat on the ground from the first attack.

Tilting his head Sky looked at it before walking to it and picking it up. He handed it up to her and she took it securing it over her neck to rest at her side.

"Thank you" she whispered before kissing behind his ear.

Nodding he started off to the car lot carrying his light cargo.

The trip was mostly silent. Sky made sure to keep the pace normal so that no attention would be drawn their way. He also wanted to keep the girl with him as long as possible as not to lose the smell of her as her taste still sat on his tongue.

After a while Sky noticed that Kammi had her arms really secured around his shoulders and was running a finger over his collar bone. He was about to say something about it but felt it really didn't bother him that and he kind of enjoyed it.

Once to the car lot he set her down on a bench. "Well drive safe and make sure to eat something soon"

Kammi looked up and blushed some making him moan ever so slightly. "I didn't drive here today. I started hiking this morning."

He looked at her. "I don't want you falling over on the side of the road. I'll give you a ride home."

"Thank you again Sky. I don't think it would be safe to be on my own though. Would I be able to stay with you for a while. I do still feel kind of light headed" she reached out touching his hand.

Sky wanted to say no and walk away but the pull to this girl was just so strong he couldn't avoid it.

Looking to her he smiled softly. "Alright, but only for a bit, I don't want to risk hurting you anymore then I already have."

She grabbed his hand fully. "I wouldn't mind. What has already happened felt good"

"You are a strange one Kammi" He pulled her up and helped her to his car where he made sure she was secure before walking around to the other side and got in the driver seat. Turning on the car he looked over to her and felt that pull again and he knew she wouldn't be leaving him for a while.

Pulling into a gas station after a few minutes on the road Sky parked the car in one of the empty spots before looking over to his passenger. "I'm going to get you something to eat. I will be right back."

Watching him leave she smiled at how much he has changed from their first encounter. To her he was becoming more accepting and it was to a point being protective of her.

Those feelings settled perfectly with her.

She watched him come out of the little store and slide back into the car smoothly. Taking the offered bag she looked in seeing a sandwich and a fruit drink. "Thank you Sky"

"No problem. You can eat now if you want. It's still a little while until we are back at my place." Starting the car he pulled out of the gas station and headed back in the direction of his home.

Glancing over he saw her open the wrap on the sandwich and start eating. Turning his focus back on the road he worked at keeping his emotions in check that were battling hard inside of him. In a way they concerned him since he has never experienced this with any of his other victims to his hunger.

The trip for the most part like the walk was quiet and for that Sky was thankful for at the moment. He wasn't sure how things were going to work out once they were settled in at his place.

Pulling into the parking area for his home he glanced around the area to check on the events before getting out and head over to the passenger side opening the door. Holding out his hand he smiled when Kammi took it and stepped out of the car.

She looked around the area then to Sky's place. "what no castle?"
