Sto'pnévma, the spiritual wyrm. Legends tale of a time an elusive creature crossed into our world at the dead of night. A wraith of divine mist concealed the star dappled sky, like a curtain to its stage. The moon was overshadowed, its light sullied by the ominous presence of an otherworldly entity. As it sailed silently, it casted an ethereal light from its vessel, illuminating the wilderness beneath it. Just as it appeared, it disappeared without a whisper; like a phantom dissolving into the night along with the mist. A number of folk have devoted their lives to traveling these sacred lands under the cover of night, hoping to one day embrace the ethereal light on their skin, witness the flight of the spiritual wyrm... However, only few have received such a blessing. As Sto'pnévma soars the sky, it is said that its obsidian scales shed from the wyrms lithe body; careening from above like blackened hail. These scales embed themselves within the soft soil upon an audience of bleak stones. They gleam with a peculiar luster, calling out to travelers who pass by. Legends say an archaic energy is imbued within the scales, said to enhance one’s reach to the spirit world. Warriors once sought these scales to enchant their armor, embedding them within the metal to enhance their astral strength.

The spiritual wyrm is unlike its elemental siblings, leading some to believe that the celestial overseer may not have even created it. It’s origins are surrounded in ambiguity, as others claim this wyrm to be the embodiment of the celestial overseers past lives — reincarnated upon the birth of the elemental wyrms. One thing is certain; Sto'pnévma is just as quiet and observant as he who lurks amongst the stars.
