WARNING: If you haven't watched this movie, I suggest you go see it now because I may give spoilers. If you have seen this movie, though, enjoy reading or if you still haven't seen this movie, then you can read it if you want, but don't say I didn't warn you.

I’ve waited for the longest time to see this movie because me and my mom were planning to buy the premier access till, we couldn’t, so we had to wait till it’s officially released on Disney+ to see it, which is now and what are my thoughts about it? Well, the movie begins with our main character Raya (played by Kelly Marie Tran) narrating 500 years ago of how there are people living in a place called Kumandra and how they all lived in different parts till evil entities called the Druuns came and turned people into stone and dragons came to try and stop them, but they got turned into stone too. However, one dragon called Sisu saved the day and used a crystal ball to turn everyone back into stone and kill the Druuns, but she was never seen again and the other dragons remained as statues and everyone who lived in different parts wanted to take the crystal for themselves, thinking it will give them power, so they’re now enemies to each other and split into five different parts of Kumandra, Talon, Heart, Spine, Fang and Tail. Then we see Raya with her little armadillo called Tuk Tuk, looking for the dragon crystal and she found it, but was stopped by a man, who is then revealed to be her father and he made Raya the guardian of the crystal. Raya then wants to fight the other parts, but her father had a different idea, he made food for them and decided to try to be friends with them. When they came and when Raya’s father talked to them, they decided not to trust him and yelled at each other whilst Raya made a new friend called Namaari and the other parts decided to try to be friends with each other at Raya’s father’s house while Namaari was showing Raya a scroll that says that Sisu didn’t actually die but was washed away by the sea when she defeated the Druuns and where she is currently is unknown. Then Raya decided to show the crystal to Namaari, who betrayed Raya and lit a flare to tell her family that she found the crystal and they all began to fight over it till Raya’s father put a stop to it and told everyone they can still be Kumandra, but they didn’t like that, so he was shot in the leg by an arrow. Then they began to fight the crystal, but it ended up breaking and releasing the Druuns and it turns out that the crystal was still magic, and it keeps the Druuns away, so each of the parts took a part of the crystal and ran off with them. When Raya and her father was running from the Druuns, they saw that water keeps them away too, but Raya’s father told Raya to continue the journey on her own and threw her off the bridge and now she was by herself. 6 years later, she’s now riding Tuk Tuk, who is big, but still adorable and they’re in Tail. They went to a shipwreck where Raya summons Sisu and to be honest, she reminds me of Eda from The Owl House. Raya told Sisu that the crystal was broken and they have to travel to all 5 parts of Kumandra to get the rest of the pieces. When Sisu took the part Raya had, she started to glow and Sisu explained that it was one of her sibling’s power, as well as the rest of the pieces, so they travelled to the rest of the places, whilst Namaari and her people, riding on big cats were hunting for Sisu. Raya and Sisu went to get the next part of the crystal, which is in a cave and Sisu saw a bug and thought it was cute, but Raya warned her that it was a Toot ‘n Boom, which farts in the air and the fart explodes. Luckily, the avoided it, but there were a lot more between the walls and they managed to get through it and saw the crystal piece, which was held by the now-deceased leader of Tait, caught in their own trap and is surrounded by a big hole. So Raya used her sword, which has a grappling end in it and she and Sisu swung across the hole and when they grabbed the other part of the crystal, Sisu turned into a human, another one of her sibling’s powers. Then they were confronted by Namaari, but luckily they escaped her and met a new friend called Boun, who helped them escape and he cooked Raya and Sisu food and also has really spicy stuff to go with it. He also lost his family too, like Raya and Sisu. He also helped them get to Talon, which is where the next piece of the crystal is located. Raya told Sisu to stay while she looks for whoever has the crystal, which she thinks is the chief, Dang Hai. Sisu then thinks she should buy something, but realizes that she doesn't have any money, but Boun told her that she can put it on credit, so Sisu bought a lot of stuff with credit, but she got into trouble because she isn’t a part of Talon. Then an old lady stopped them and takes Sisu to the “crystal piece”. While Raya was looking for the chief, she finds that he was turned into stone and the old lady was the one who had the crystal and she demanded Sisu to tell her where the other pieces are or she’ll lock her out with the Druuns, but Raya arrived just in time, saved Sisu, grabbed the crystal piece, which made Sisu have fog surrounding her, which is, you guessed it, another power from one of her siblings. They also met a con-baby named Noi and Ongins and they continued their way to Spine, while Raya and Sisu had a little talk about bringing Kumandra back and the only thing Raya cared about was bringing her father back. At Fang, Namaari and her mother had a talk about how Fang needed to expand with all the gem pieces and Namaari’s mother is proud of her for raising Namaari into the leader she wants her to be. When Raya and Sisu got to Spine, Sisu ran off with Boun’s food and Raya ran after her and then they were both caught in a net and later tied up in the house of a tough guy named Tong. At first, he was intimidating, but then Sisu suspects that he’s lonely, though he did try to deny it and just then, Tuk Tuk, Noi, the Ongins and Boun all busted in and tied up Tong, saved Raya and Sisu and they found out that Fang came and Namaari was demanding the crystal piece, but Raya came out and she and Namaari battled and just when things are looking bad for Raya, Sisu came in, as a dragon again and the people of Fang ran away, except for Namaari, who was really shooked and surprised to see Sisu. Back on the boat, everyone was mad at Raya for not telling them about Sisu, but Raya told them they already knew it was Sisu. Then they all teamed up to stop the Druuns, even Tong, who gave them his piece of the gem, which made rain pour, which is Sisu’s last sibling’s power. She also flew around the sky, which is an amazing moment. Then both Boun and Sisu made a plan for when they get to Fang. Boun’s plan was that they fight the people and the gather all the gem pieces and make the Druuns go away. However, Sisu’s plan was that they confront Numaari, give her a gift and then she’ll become friends with them and stop the Druuns with them. Raya, however, went with Boun’s plan instead. Then Sisu grabbed Raya and showed her where her siblings were kept when they turned into stone, which is Heart, which was Raya’s home and explained that they trusted her with the gem and she didn’t know why and said to Raya that sometimes, you have to take the first step, even before you’re ready. Then Raya went with Sisu’s plan and thinks the perfect gift to give Namaari was the Sisu necklace she had when she was a child. At Fang, Namaari’s mother was showing the people of Fang and their children about the history of Fang till Namaari came in and had a talk with her mother about how she saw Sisu and how she can bring everyone back, but Namaari’s mother said that Fang should have the gem pieces, so they’ll be forgiven and also said that it’s no longer Namaari’s concern. When they got to Tail, Raya, Sisu, Noi and Tong all put their plan into action. Noi and the Ongins climbed up Namaari’s...I guess home? And they put her necklace on the window sill and Namaari saw it and Raya helped Boun with his food while they all talk how they miss their families till they saw a flair and that means that Namaari is ready to talk. When they got to where she is, she gave up the gem piece and when they were about to take it, Namaari pulled out her crossbow and threatened to take Sisu and the gem pieces. Raya was about to pull out her sword, but Sisu told her to trust her (Sisu) and then Raya took her hand off the sword handle and then Sisu went up to Namaari and told her that she can fix the world by giving them the gem piece, but Namaari shot Sisu with an arrow, but instantly regretted it as Sisu falls in the water. When Sisu fell, the water started to drain away, which means that it’ll be easier for the Druuns to turn people into stone. Raya then went to Namaari by herself and try to get the gem piece. They fought and once Namaari was defeated, she told Raya that she’s as much to blame for Sisu’s death as she is...okay, Namaari, whatever you say. While they were trying to get everyone out, Raya, Boun, Tong, Noi and the Ongins try to back the Druuns off with their gem pieces and then Namaari came and try to help them, but they didn’t trust her and then they fell down a bridge. Then they were surrounded by the Druuns and it was looking pretty hopeless for them. Then Raya thought about Sisu’s words from before of how her siblings trusted her and she felt like she should trust Namaari, which the others didn’t agree at first, but started to when Raya gave her gem piece to Namaari and let the Druuns turn her into stone. The rest of them gave Namaari their pieces and let the Druuns turn them into stone. Namaari them put the pieces together and then let the Druuns turn her into stone along with the others. The gem then lights up and it made the Druuns go away and turned Raya, Namaari, Noi, the Ongins, Boun and Tong back, as well as everyone else. Then we see that all of the dragons have turned back too, even Sisu. Later, everyone was reunited with their families, ever Raya and they all came to Heart to have a celebration and that’s the movie. I feel disappointed that I had to wait to see this movie, but now I’ve seen it and it’s one of the best in my opinion. Not my favorite, but it’s a great movie and I’d recommend it.
