Description Another entry into the Bestiary. Though no doubt those of you who have been watching me for a while know that this is far from the first Lamia Pic i have submitted.

Name: Lamia
Disposition: Friendly, Greedy, Competitive
Threat Level: Low.

Lamias have become a fairly common sight in the Major Cities of the Civilized world. Their natural talent for crafting has made their goods sought after by many Nations who want to equip their soldiers with the best Equipment available. Indeed it is rumoured that their crafting abilitly surpasses that of Dwarves though the Dwarves have no comment on the matter. Lamias converted to civilized life rather quickly though not without a few odd side effects due to their mindset.
In the wild Lamias would only be able to eat on rare occasions whenever prey was abundant. Their metabolisms compensating for the lack of food. Though once they came to the cities and found themselves able to spend their newly acquired money on food Lamias started to rapidly associate their growing waists with status.
To civilized Lamias now ones status is measured by their wealth and how large they are. A Lamia will normaly wear their most valuable possesions on them at all times and they tend to choose to wear more revealing clothes to properly show of their higher status. Luckily due to their powerful lower bodies most Lamias can attain weights that would immobilise two legged creatures many times over.
Most people who live alongside Lamias are naturally a little confused by this behaviour though they are never to vocal about it. No sane Adventurter would ever insult a Lamia and risk being blacklisted from buying their products.

The picture looks very clean overall something I can have a hard time doing erasing so much. The belly looks good but the boobs are lacking the umphf. Either the boobs should be more spread apart and have visible effect of gravity acting on them or they should be tightly held together by the shirt but have effects of overhanging fat around where the bra cuts into her. Also the cleavage in a tight scenario will typically go more straight or at least be fighting one another for room, right now it appears that here left is taking over for no reason. Keep in mind with your next pieces the effects of gravity, hell even use reference to better understand how it hangs and reacts to tightness etc. Keep practicing!

Thanks very much for the tips. I'll try to keep in mind what you said when i draw my next pic.

Thanks i guess it is a slightly different take on how they are normaly portrayed.

It adds a nice new flavour to them. Makes me wonder just how hefty they can get, if they're capable of bearing weights which would immobilise humans...

Quite the interesting little story, and definitely a nice drawing. As has been said, good job on the lower half. I like the spots.

And also, looks like she's got a selection of good things on sale (strangah).

Slash-Pseudo In reply to MetroidBob [2011-04-05 22:11:50 +0000 UTC]

I guess the spots help give her some personality. Yeah she has some pretty good stuff on sale and for pretty cheap to.

MetroidBob In reply to Slash-Pseudo [2011-04-06 00:49:00 +0000 UTC]

Can't afford not to buy it. And if the low prices keep one coming back to see her, well, I see no harm in that.

She might get suspicous when you keep buying the same article of Armour everyday though though.

GizesNumbers [2011-04-05 20:42:51 +0000 UTC]

Wait, is that a gun on the table? Reminds me of one of those modules where PCs in a fantasy setting would raid a spaceship for high tech mundane goods that function like wondrous items...

Interesting description... generally don't hear of Lamia, or for that Naga, serving in a more benign capacity, at least in Western Mythology/Literature/Games. I like it.

About the drawing itself, it's very nice. Good overlap and nice folds. I like how the upper portion of the serpent half is kinda chunky to match the human parts. Well done!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Slash-Pseudo In reply to GizesNumbers [2011-04-05 20:50:51 +0000 UTC]

Yeah that is a gun. Or rather a Caster Gun to be precise. It's a gun from an anime i watched years ago called Outlaw Star, the gun fires stored magic from the bullets. I figured it would be a silly little reference to dump in the pic.
As for the backstory i figured it would be a change of pace to have Lamias portrayed in a less evil light for once. Plus they make more appealing looking Smiths than Dwarves.
Also thanks it was quite a challenge to visualise in my mind how i was going to draw the folds etc on her lower body.It took more than one attempt to get it looking right to me.

GizesNumbers In reply to Slash-Pseudo [2011-04-06 02:05:04 +0000 UTC]

Ah, I see. I like doing little references like that, myself.

Interesting idea, and you're right about how much more sexy Lamias are than Dwarves.

Yeah, you did a great job with the lower body. Just noticed the speed score... it's so titillatingly low. Chunky not-so-little snakewomen... hah.

Slash-Pseudo In reply to GizesNumbers [2011-04-08 12:48:55 +0000 UTC]

Thanks the lower body was quite a pain to draw but it seems to be getting some pretty positive feedback so i guess it all worked out in the end.

Nexis89 [2011-04-05 17:30:34 +0000 UTC]

Rather nice job on this, both in the details and her anatomical figure; combining an already difficult balance of the lamia anatomy with a good amount of pudge, yet you definitely pulled it off quite nicely

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Slash-Pseudo In reply to Nexis89 [2011-04-05 19:26:05 +0000 UTC]

Thanks very much. I have to admit drawing the lower half of her body was a complete bitch to do.
There was not really many points of reference for drawing a Fat Serpent like body. But through trial and error i guess i managed to pull it off. Though i had to spend about 30minutes touching it up digitally to erase all the mistakes and blotches.

Nexis89 In reply to Slash-Pseudo [2011-04-05 20:34:53 +0000 UTC]

Well it definitely seems that all of your hard work paid off, even if it was almost wrist-breaking in terms of the details XD Still, at least you'll become more proficient in drawing bodies like this now that you have it more under your thumb.

Slash-Pseudo In reply to Nexis89 [2011-04-05 20:52:06 +0000 UTC]

Heh well i think i still have a ways to go until i have fully got the hang of drawing Serpentine bodies.
But this pic certainly provided some good practice.

Nexis89 In reply to Slash-Pseudo [2011-04-05 20:54:58 +0000 UTC]

Well if you want to really challenge yourself you can always try your hand at drawing Driders or such XD

But yeah, you really have improved from the first pics I've seen of you drawing lamias.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Slash-Pseudo In reply to Nexis89 [2011-04-05 20:56:50 +0000 UTC]

I was thinking about drawing a Drider. Though now that i think about it those legs are probably going to be absolute hell to get right.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nexis89 In reply to Slash-Pseudo [2011-04-05 20:58:01 +0000 UTC]

Well it really all depends on if you want her legs to stay akin to the spindly arachnid legs or if you want them chubb'd up with the rest of her body.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Slash-Pseudo In reply to Nexis89 [2011-04-05 21:00:35 +0000 UTC]

True. I guess i could cheat and keep them spindly, though i figure the Abdomen and the other part of the spider which name eludes me could be a little challenging to.
I think i will probably leave it for last if i do draw one. So that i can get some more practice in drawing strange anatomy.

Nexis89 In reply to Slash-Pseudo [2011-04-05 21:01:43 +0000 UTC]

Fair enough; best of luck when you do decide to draw one (and for drawing one of the few bbw driders ever :3 ).

She looks like the love child of Cleo and Katt. (Intentional, maybe?)

Love the descriptions of the monsters so far, keep it up.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Slash-Pseudo In reply to kagehadou [2011-04-05 14:25:47 +0000 UTC]

Well i borrowed inspiration for her clothing from Cleo. Though i guess the hair has a slight Katt'ish vibe to it.
Also thanks i was not going to add descriptions for the pics. But i figured i should alteast give an excuse as to why all these monsters are so huge etc.
