Chudan- no- kame is the basic position in kendo. my bokken is very old that is why it has tape on some parts

Are you sure thats chudan no kamae. Your bokuto(bokken) has to be obe closed hand apart your belly botoon.

sorry it took so long to reply but yes that is chudan. i take pre-war kendo it is different from the federations style but thanks for asking

Didn't think anybody taught it anymore and that all the sensei who still remember it have either passed away or refuse to teach it. But even at that, pictures of kendoka from before WWII didn't have their hands that high for chudan.

that was taken a couple years ago and yes I admit that it is too high for chudan and my head sensei beat the bad form out of me. I really need to update my pictures.
