This is what has become of the Warrior of the 2000's in the future. Somehow he lost all of his abilities and powers, and has aged dramatically. So that is why his future son has come back to get his younger father. Also, if wondering why the son has cybernetic enhancements is due to the 2000 Warrior not being able to protect him from a blast that hit earth in time. The blast left the son for dead, bu the Warrior sacrificed all of his power to save his only son's life.
