I absolutely love the definition of this picture. You can see all of the fine details in the cat's face and eyes. His(?) eyes are my favorite part of this. They draw you in and hold you there. The contrast of the very defined face with the blurred background is a nice touch. It makes one wonder what he is looking at so intensely. (While ignoring the glaringly obvious "CAMERA!") Whether or not you were intending it, his face almost has warm colours while the background is a cooler set of colour.
Still, it would have been nice to see more of his body, even if it was just more of his ears. Somehow it makes it feel slightly incomplete. This does not take away from the picture though.

Perfect capture of the feline model. The lighting is very good, removing any distractions from the main subject of the cat's eyes and expression. I would say though that the photograph over all is too cropped. There is background and even blurred, I think the background should try to enhance the main subject of attention or perhaps be replaced with a solid black color to continue to black-on-black blend. Cats are amazing at being a mystery and it is nice to see a tiny glimpse into the model's personality. I think you had a great idea here and it was executed pretty well other than needing perhaps to expand the frame of capture.

Chester was hiding in a shelf area, I bent over the shelf (since it has no back cover perfect for window looking lol) to take this photo. Quite a tight space, totally should have zoomed the lens back a bit.
