A scene from the story I've been working on and the perfect opportunity to illustrate (at last!) the tattoo seals on Hibana's back. It was nice to try something a little darker in tone and color There's also a tiny spoopy easter egg haha

The council of elders have the final say of judgement for those marked with errant magic. Hibana is one such individual with status as an heir, an extreme exception, and even then that's not enough to keep him free from verdict. His magic is wild enough that the tattoos have actually started to burn into his skin. The night before his hearing and resting in Darkreach's infirmary, Hibana is anxiety-ridden and unease is all around, both figuratively and literally.
