i'm thinking some type of horse or mule legs 
her quirk allows her to run faster than the average human and have an extremely strong kick

I know  she has the same mutation quirk as pony but I don't think unicorn girl can carry anyone, maybe someone child size. 
Idk about the main, I tried to figure out unicorn magic but I only know the mlp version and I already got a chick who can move stuff with her brain .3.
So maybe healing?

That sounds really nice actually! Will she be trained in combat for protection, or is she gonna be studying under Recovery Girl? Btw, if you have a Discord, there's a server I can invite you to that's really good for developing characters
