Magical Education: Magnolia grew up on farm land quite a ways from town. Even though she lived with a big family consisting of a mother, a father, one older sister, two older brothers, and a pair of young twins, she was the only one with magical abilities. She disliked thinking about why she was the only one capable of magic; so the thought was always promptly dismissed. She attended regular school with the rest of her siblings (except the young twins) throughout her middle and high school career. While she never acquired formal training for her magical abilities, she practiced on her own in a fashion much like the hedge witches. When she realized that she was in fact very different from other people and could do unique things that others could not, she was exceedingly confused. With nowhere to turn and no one to ask questions to, Magnolia did the only thing she could think of: Google it. She read web page after web page, chatted on forums and learned the best way she could via the Internet. It ended up working fairly well for her! After school, she'd continue to read and practice nearly every day.

Magical Strengths/Abilities: Magnolia has a natural knack for astral projection and that seems to be where her strength lies. At first, it was something she could do in her sleep and she didn't think much of it. She found herself in far off places but she brushed it off as just overactive dreaming. However, what she was considering dreams became too vivid and too real; as if she was really there. Magnolia would wake up in a cold sweat and with an odd sense of dissociation. Her grip on reality would briefly be skewed. Was she really there? Were these visions? The idea that she couldn't control these actions scared her. Sometimes sleeping didn't feel 100% safe. After some research, she's come to understand her ability, at least a little. Astral projection was now something she needed to master; it was a challenge. After all, the internet can only help out so much.

Discipline/Focus: Mystic- Magnolia is already proficient in the art of astral projection, but she doesn't plan on stopping there. She hopes to learn how to call onto and channel spirits (in the most friendly way she can) to ask for their guidance and acquire their help. Her magical abilities are a bit all over the place right now so she yearns to be better in all of her focuses at school. She wishes to be strong: mentally with her magic and emotionally with herself.

Brief History: Magnolia grew up as a loner; her parents were too busy and her siblings always had someone else they'd choose over her, someone they'd rather be with. Being alone so much would often get to her- it made her feel weak, unimportant or useless. Even in school, she was bullied because of her odd physical differences. She remembers vividly walking to the front of her class, becoming nervous, blushing and the class erupting in talk. “You're face is bright purple!” “Why does she look like that?!” “There has to be something wrong with her...” and for a long time, she believed something was wrong with her. She had lavender blood! And silver eyes! That wasn't normal! When her world was becoming too dark for her to handle, a light had finally shown through: she met her best friend: Nina. Nina taught her to be confident (well.. more confident at the least) in who she was and how she looked. Growing older, Magnolia stopped being afraid of others. This is who I am! She developed a positive attitude and gained happiness within herself and for her life, even though there were many flaws in it that she could not fix.

Personality: Magnolia is a girl who wants to win. She is not fiercely competitive, but when she loses badly at something, her fear of being useless comes back and envelopes her. She's still gotta work on that. She can be extremely outgoing when someone gets to know her; when she feels comfortable, she'll crack jokes and laugh with you all day. She is always looking forward to going to new places that will change her life and meeting new people that will do the same thing. She wants to be the best Magnolia that she can possibly be! Although she is optimistic about the future and having new people in her life, she is quite afraid of something she has never experienced before, and thinks she will never experience... love (dun dun.)

Although she tries to be a giving person, she can often be very selfish. She feels as though the world owes her something since she has been through much turbulence in her life. When something doesn't go the way she wants it to, she can become angry and withdrawn, isolating herself from the people that she shouldn't. Her physical strength is not to her best advantage, she is a petite girl after all which annoys her to no end. Since she had a truly awful experience in public school, Magnolia is self-conscious about her abilities, the decisions she makes, and who she is in general. She strives to be confident, but it is hard for her most of the time especially after the loss of Nina.

Magnolia wishes to be strong in every sense of the word. Most people would overlook her thinking she is weak, but she couldn't be farther from that. She does not yet realize how brave and powerful she truly is.

Initiation: There is a cliff about a three hour walking distance from Magnolia's childhood home- she has always thought that it is rather beautiful, but fearfully high. When you get to the edge to look down, all you see is clouds. She would walk to this cliff with her best friend Nina to get away from the town in which they went to school, to get away from the people that had always been unreasonably mean to them. Together they found solace. Unfortunately, though, there came a day where Nina no longer could walk with Magnolia to the cliff, or help her with her math homework, or talk to her at lunch. On an especially dark day for her, lost without her best friend, depressed about her family and isolated by her classmates, she made a brave decision. She stood on the cliffs edge and lived in this dejected moment that she believed would never pass, took a deep breath and let herself fall. As she fell with her eyes open she thought to herself that there would be no more disappointments, that she was finally strong and brave enough to make the decision to remove herself from the situation. She closed her eyes and took her last breath in with a smile. All of a sudden- SPLASH! She was engulfed by water. What? I've walked along these paths countless times- there shouldn't be a lake here..! Magnolia swims to the shore and emerges from the water more confused than she has ever been in her life. She rubs the water from her eyes and looks around to find a giant gothic castle in the distance. What?
