I wonder when Plucky is planning to tell them the truth. With that first panel, there's no way she isn't thinking about it right now... (Also the set-up in the last panel is perfect for her to at least attempt to do so in the next page, so I'm excited to see whether she does or not)

Which is going to be hard to explain why she's covering it in dirt/mud as the Bad advances.

Only if it is a different shade of white or if the mud fails to hide it after it dries and flakes off or if it spreads beyond the muddy border and whites out more of her brown fur and someone else sees it before she notices... and that difficulty will only rise until she decides to separate herself from them while convincing them not to follow her.
