Description
This is a 5" bust of a child I made while sick and bedridden. 2005In side the relique nitch on her chest is a cherrystone heart.

The dramatic lighting, the sort of sickly, ashen paint... the way the bottom eyelids catch the light... all brilliant. It has an raw edge to it without being sloppy. You need to do more of sort of thing. Here's hoping you get sick again soon.

I agree. I like this style too. Like an expressionist painting. I think of it like faceting on a gem. It deflects light and allows the eye to linger.
I wish more people appreciated that.

Her skin actualy is a very translucent clay. when I painted her I used a light scumbling so you could still see the undercolor.
